"My wife and I stayed here in December and it was great. Can't say enough good things about it. We will stay here again. Thanks Wendy."

"In the 1930's, Honolulu businessmen would purchase cottages for their families on the windward coast where trade winds and showers create a cool, verdant paradise. You may rent this very cottage. It has everything you need--internet, appliances, TV--but remains vintage 1930. Happily, the price has not been updated either. You may stay for a month instead of a week. The location is ideal, near the small town of Kailua with great restaurants and a beach recognized as one of the finest in the world. In thirty minutes you can be shopping in Honolulu or exploring remote beaches.
We love the mornings and evenings, dining on the lanai, looking across a vast expanse of lawn where your neighbors stroll beneath the coconut palms, where plovers and cardinals hunt for seeds in the grass. This is a home, not a rental. Neither is it a resort experience. It is a beautiful place lost in time where the residents seem to have walked away decades ago, their ukuleles and photos still on the walls. My family has returned five times."

"We stayed at this wonderful home during the Christmas/New Year time 2014/2015. It is a great house for a large family or multiple smaller parties as is offers plenty of room indoors and out - we were 10 and it never felt crowded. The house itself has a great flow and was built by the owner himself - large common rooms (including an epic master suit with huge walk in closet, desks, separate shower and tub etc.). We cooked a lot and loved the outdoor BBQ and patio. The pool was a bit cold due to the cooler weather during our stay, but I understand the owner is going to install a heater system. The separate little pool house with shower and toilet was convenient too, so we could leave all the wet bathing suits outside.
The location is perfect - just a quick 1 min walk to the beach through the park. There is a great market and coffee place just around the corner where we walked to almost every day (with a 3 year old, so no long distance). The shave ice store is, of course, famous and amazing and not to be missed. Buzz's cross the bridge is also a quick walk and has some nice food, especially for appetizers and cocktails. Nice hikes close by and great location to start exploring the island from.
The beach itself is one of the nicest I have ever been to (and I have traveled a lot!). Gentle waves even in winter, but just enough of a surf for kids to do a bit of boogie boarding. Softest sand ever. And for the sun-conscious - lot's of shade if you want it.
Another huge plus - the super cute resident chicken (Cornelia) - who kept our daughter entertained all day, every day! So gentle and sweet.
Last but not least, the were lucky enough to meet the owners at the beginning and end of our stay - a wonderful family who will go above and beyond to make you comfortable. We communicated all the time during our stay (questions about how something works, small things that needed fixing, etc.) and they were amazingly helpful and responsive. During a storm when the power went out in the region the next door neighbor even came by and dropped off lanterns just to make sure his neighbor's guests were comfortable and well taken care of! We'd be back, just to see them again!

"We stayed on the 10th floor of Gary and Merry's condo which has an excellent location and a great ocean view from the large balcony. Very safe, secure building in a great area that was close to everything, including the grocery store and the famous Waikiki beach! Our daughter stayed on the sofa bed which she said was vey comfortable. The unit was well equipped and everything worked well. There was even a few beach toys left in a deck box for renters to use. Merry and Gary were excellent to deal with and couldn't have been nicer! Highly recommended!"
