  • Excellent!

"This was our first trip to Oahu and the studio at Ala Moana was perfect! We stayed for a week and the studio was spacious, well-stocked, and so clean! Loved that it was bigger than a standard hotel room and it was close to lots of different stores, restaurants, etc. Not to mention just a brief walk to the Ala Moana Mall. We didn't need to rent a car and instead used the trolley or bus service that was right outside of the hotel. Very easy in terms of use, time, and money. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses, etc., there were lots of extra towels and blankets available and did I mention how clean the suite was? There was an issue with paying the remainder of the deposit right before we left and Chris was very helpful in getting it sorted out in a timely manner. He kept in constant contact and provided an alternate method of payment. Being a first time visitor, we also really loved the "welcome" letter he sent out with recommendations of things to do and places to go. We checked out quite a few of his tourist and restaurant recommendations and really enjoyed them. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this suite and would definitely stay here again on a return trip."

  • Beach Studio & 1 Bedroom

"I visited with my 13-year-old daughter for a week. My two concerns before we arrived were: 1) the beach studio would be too small and 2) the apartment would be too noisy being right by a busy road. The studio was a bit small but we were lucky that the people who had booked the 1-bedroom did not show up and so they let us move next door to the bigger space at no extra cost. Very nice! The noise turned out not to be a problem, but then I live in New York City! If you are used to quiet, you might be upset by the traffic noise in the morning. The ocean right outside the door can also be noisy. The view can't be beat. You are looking out at the ocean and the crater beyond. I enjoyed sitting on the porch and gazing out. It was gorgeous. The snorkeling right in front of the apartment is not very good and it is very shallow so swimming is not that great either. But the kayaking is great. And you can watch windsurfers out your door in the afternoon. I really enjoyed the location. We rented a car and drove all around the island. The owners offered a bunch of recommendations of restaurants and places to see along with the details about the apartment and I thought most of them were excellent. I really appreciated their inside knowledge. Island Brew is a great coffee house. The 1-bedroom was a little tough for an adult and nearly grown child. My daughter had to sleep on the pullout couch, which had an air mattress that deflated the first two nights we were there. We finally dragged in a twin mattress from the Beach Studio and she slept on that. The kitchen was nice but lacks an oven. You can barbecue right outside and there is a washer and dryer for laundry. The TV offerings were very limited and the Internet was extremely slow, if you care about that. There is no AC but we never needed to use the fans provided. There were nice breezes off the water. The queen bed was quite soft. Overall, I am not sure I would return with a teen. The place is better suited for a couple who can share the one bed. It would be great for a romantic getaway for a couple who want to see the island."

  • Scenic Vacation Pool Home

"This home even comes complete with pots, pans, dishes and glasses. Even cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper. Some spices are also in the cabinets. Hiro, our property manager, was very accommodating. I traveled from Florida, so at first getting in touch with the 6 hour time difference took a minute. Be patient. He is very gracious and helpful, and literally lives next door (a stones throw away). The property has complete privacy, and the scenic views are incredibly breathtaking. The house does not come with central air conditioning, but the master does have a window unit a/c. The guest bedroom (my room) did not, but by late evening the guest room does cool down. Being on top of the mountain, it does have a constant breeze with ceiling fans throughout the house. Also the guest bedroom has a twin bed, so if you're traveling with another couple, it may be cramped, but with younger children or a single adult it should be fine. There are 2 sleeper sofas in the living room for additional people. The views looking down on Honolulu, Diamond Head and Waikiki are amazing and the sunsets are gorgeous. You are literally 10 minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants, and 15-20 minutes away from Honolulu. I would highly recommend this property not only for the price, but for the privacy as well."

  • Ellen and Ian's stay.

"We recently stayed at this wonderful apartment whilst visiting from Australia. Our dealings with our hosts were nothing short of fantastic. Everything we needed to find the place and gain access was communicated to us perfectly. The unit itself is really nice. Close to transport facilities, restaurants and shops. If you want to cook for youself everything you need is there. It is exactly as described and as soon as you walk into the bedroom and see the view it is breathtaking."
