"Our family of six stayed at this beautiful home (including 4 teenagers), which seemed even roomier than the online pictures show. The house is nicely decorated with beautiful colors and artwork. Everything we needed was there....beach towels, bikes, etc etc. We rented a van so it was easy to sight see and go on adventures throughout Oahu. There is a Whole Foods that is just a few minutes away, so that was very convenient. The kitchen and BBQ area were wonderful. The kids had a great time swimming in the salt water pool after being at the beach. The property is very charming!! The only bummer was having to leave."

"Our family of five had a wonderful one-week stay at the Gingerbread House. The house is unique in design and well cared for. Everything functioned well and the house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The layout of the rooms was ideal for us. And the pool and garden area were simply fantastic! Veronica and Sandy were very thoughtful and helpful with answering our enquiries. We can highly recommend this property! If anything I would suggest a freshening up of the garden cushions and furniture. We cooked at home most evenings as there aren't many restaurants within walking distance. Otherwise the house is centrally located for venturing out for sight-seeing on either side of the island and away from the hubbub of overrated Waikiki."

"Our spring break plans fell through so on a whim we decided to go to Hawaii'i! We booked flights for the five of us and within a couple hours, we secured this beautiful rental home. Nonie was so helpful and accommodating of our last minute scramble. She even bought us some organic milk and put it in the fridge since we were arriving close to midnight that night! The home itself is spacious, with all the modern comforts and upgrades. The gem of the home is the large covered patio looking out on the gorgeous yard and garden - a piece of paradise. We ate all our meals out there and after getting the kids to bed would lay on the large daybed and relax to the sounds of the waterfall and the wind rustling the trees. The jacuzzi, hammock and board games provided plenty of electronic-free entertainment during the evenings but the rest of the time we were out seeing the island. The location worked really well for us. We were just far enough away from the craziness of the Waikiki crowds but within 10 minutes if we wanted to go there. There was a lot to do and see within a 10-25 minute car ride - hike the Diamond Head crater, snorkel at Hanauma Bay, visit the Pearl Harbor memorials, ride a submarine under water. There's a beach a quick walk from the house but at Nonie's recommendation, we also drove up to Lanakai. Stunning. Overall it was a fantastic trip! Would definitely stay here again."

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Hawaii
"We looked at a lot of properties for a friends and family vacation that was leading up to a Hawaii wedding (though the wedding wasn't at the house). We wanted a place that was impressive and was different than a block of rooms in a hotel or resort. In all my searching, nothing else came close to the value and luxury we got with the Kahala estate. It surpassed our expectations. It was impeccably maintained and luxurious, with every amenity you could ask for. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and everyone had their own connecting bathroom. Everything from the main hall to the lagoon pool to the outdoor grill and patio (which was amazing - the grill was huge, well kept, and able to handle cooking for 10 people, and we were outdoors on that patio eating dinner many nights) gives the the impression of tropical paradise. Everyone was impressed by the place and thanked me again and again for finding it. It was in a quiet neighborhood, but with easy access to beaches, grocery stores, and local attractions (Waikiki and Diamond Head in particular, though we were all over the island that week). Even with 10 adults under one roof, we never felt crowded or in each other's way, even in high traffic areas like the kitchen, which was stocked with all the kitchen equipment and accessory needs for the group. Nikki was very easy to communicate with, answered every question quickly, and was a pleasure to deal with. We cannot recommend this place enough for any large group."
