"Our spring break plans fell through so on a whim we decided to go to Hawaii'i! We booked flights for the five of us and within a couple hours, we secured this beautiful rental home. Nonie was so helpful and accommodating of our last minute scramble. She even bought us some organic milk and put it in the fridge since we were arriving close to midnight that night! The home itself is spacious, with all the modern comforts and upgrades. The gem of the home is the large covered patio looking out on the gorgeous yard and garden - a piece of paradise. We ate all our meals out there and after getting the kids to bed would lay on the large daybed and relax to the sounds of the waterfall and the wind rustling the trees. The jacuzzi, hammock and board games provided plenty of electronic-free entertainment during the evenings but the rest of the time we were out seeing the island. The location worked really well for us. We were just far enough away from the craziness of the Waikiki crowds but within 10 minutes if we wanted to go there. There was a lot to do and see within a 10-25 minute car ride - hike the Diamond Head crater, snorkel at Hanauma Bay, visit the Pearl Harbor memorials, ride a submarine under water. There's a beach a quick walk from the house but at Nonie's recommendation, we also drove up to Lanakai. Stunning. Overall it was a fantastic trip! Would definitely stay here again."

"We had such an amazing experience at the Gingerbread House. It truly is spectacular, and the pictures do not do the property justice. Our family of 6 adults and 1 child, made many memories at the house, in particular the incredible backyard, which included a completely covered lanai with seating area, eating area and bbq area. Every meal was eaten outside. The spacious kitchen was fully stocked with anything we needed to prepare our meals. The swimming pool was put to lots of use, whether to swim laps, float around or horse around. It was big enough for us all. There were lots of pool toys and beach toys for us to use. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were tastefully decorated. Sandy and Veronica were extremely welcoming. Thank you for your hospitality and welcome gifts. The location of the property is very convenient. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. You will not be disappointed. I hope to be back to stay there again."

"We had a wonderful week at the Kahala Cottage -- grandparents, parents and two teenagers. The kids slept in the loft area, which was a little tight for two, but they made it work. The home is beautiful with highlights being a great pool w/Jacuzzi, nice lawn for Frisbee/paddle ball, private tennis court and shady veranda for viewing it all and having meals and cocktails...we enjoyed them all. A/C units were nice to have and are super quiet (could hardly tell when they were running). Very short walk down a path to the beach. The beach is not very spacious there, but it's another short walk to Waialae Beach Park, which has plenty of room and not crowded during the week. Convenient location to groceries, restaurants and other south island excursions. Besides just relaxing at the house and enjoying the yard (which we did a lot), other highlights of our trip included: hiking Diamond Head (5+ minute drive), two great waterfall hikes -- Manoa and Maunawili Falls (Manoa also has a great arboretum worth checking out and Maunawili has a 40' jump...if you've got the courage), great local dinners at Assagio (Italian), Plumeria seafood buffet (Kahala Resort) and Maile's Thai Bistro (Hawaii Kai Town Center). We all wanted to stay another week."
