  • Fabulous views, great location

"The views from this condo are some of the best in Waikiki. You couldn't get much closer to the sand. Sitting on the balcony you can watch the passing parade, check out the seal frolicking in the sea, smell the aromas wafting up from the Steak Shack downstairs, watch the fireworks on a Friday night and have front row seats to the lovely sunsets. People gather just outside to watch the sunsets and fireworks but staying here you get the best seats in the house. Hotel rooms are much more common than condo's in Waikiki which is surprising for an area popular with families and those that you do find are often very expensive. This condo is good value for money and spacious. It is not two bedroom but there is a sofa bed in the living room which kids should find okay. Not so comfortable for adults though. It does have 2 bathrooms though which was a must with our two teenage daughters. The kitchen has everything you require in terms of applicances etc. plus crockery, glasses, etc. Surprisingly there are no large supermarkets within walking distance and unless you have a car you will have to go to ABC stores for supplies or the larger Food Pantry which is about a 20 minute walk. We did prepare most of our breakfasts there though. There is a washing machine/dryer which comes in very handy. The condo is very clean and functional. It is located just out of the busy part of Waikiki but an easy walk to get to all the shops and restaurants. If you want to get to the main beach in front of the Royal Hawaiian you can walk along the beach path to get there. You also get access to the pool area at the Outrigger next door which was very nice with several bars and restaurants. You can also get beach towels there. WIFI was very good and overall the condo provided everything we needed. Recommended."

  • Loved this place!

"We had such a wonderful stay! The room was clean and stocked with everything we could possibly need and then some. The view was gorgeous overlooking the zoo, Diamond Head and the beach. The location is great, it's just steps from the beach, shops and buses. You don't really need a car if you stay here, there are buses that will take you to the North Shore, Polynesian Center, etc. You can pay hundreds of dollars a night next door and around the corner or stay here in a clean, compact room and have everything you need in a great location. We were due to fly in around the Hurricane warning so our flight was changed last minute and they let us bump our room out two days later and also offered us a late check out since the room was not booked the next day. Charles and Bill were a pleasure to work with and the transaction was so smooth and professional. We hope to return one day and I sure missed waking up to that view this morning in Waikiki. Thank you Bill and Charles! Chris and Vanessa Thousand Oaks, CA"

  • Excellent Condo

"This condo was great. Clean and tidy, well stocked. A great location. 10 minutes to Ala Moana and easy walking distance to the ward centre and waikiki. Pool was great but the beach is close as well. There were plenty of instructions and Lisa promptly answered any questions. I felt the hosts went out of their way to make my holiday very enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone staying in Waikiki. I hope to be back myself and am happy I have found a great place to stay. I also found it very quiet."

  • Great Condo

"Everything was exactly as stated. Kahn and Kai are awesome ....great to work with. It's about 3 blocks to Waikiki Beach closer to The Diamond Head side, so the location is perfect. We will be back. Thanks for a great stay."

Portlock Travel Tips

Portlock House Rentals in a Beach Paradise

When planning your Hawaii vacation, choose Portlock house rentals and Portlock beach rentals. Whether you make your vacation home on or off the beach, you'll find the luxurious accommodations suit the beauty of South Oahu perfectly. The many attractions of Honolulu are close at hand, such as the Queen Kapiolani Park (now an historic site thanks to its century-old Banyan Trees); the park itself contains such landmarks as the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium.

Fun in Sand and Sea

Of course, you may never make it past the beaches. Don't worry if you get sand on the floors of your Portlock beach rentals – they're used to it. This being Hawaii, a beach is close no matter the location of your Portlock house rentals, and South Oahu features some of the best beaches around. From Ala Moana Beach Park to favorite Lanikai Beach, do not miss the opportunity to swim in the deep blue waters, build sand castles, and watch the tide come in and roll out. Just watch out for falling coconuts. The lagoons and reefs are home to amazing creatures, from tropical fish to birds to sea turtles.

The Iolani Palace

Make sure you do explore inland. Do not miss the Iolani Palace, a National Historic Landmark and the only royal palace in the United States used as an official residence by a reigning monarch. There's only one, and this is it. See it! In 1893, when the monarchy came to an end, the palace became the capital building for the government up until 1969. In 1978 the building was restored and became a museum. This is just one of many man-made attractions – the sea turtles will understand if you see a few. Enjoy your tropical vacation in the comfort of South Oahu vacation rentals and experience what Hawaii has to offer.
