  • What a view!

"This condo rental is an oversized studio, very spacious and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. There is plenty of comfortable furniture, but the place is still spacious and uncluttered. There are windows spanning an entire wall of this unit, providing a stunning view of the beautiful blue and turquoise ocean, gorgeous sunsets, the Waikiki skyline, occasional firework displays, passing ships, surfers, long-distance swimmers and canoe paddlers. We spent a lot of time on the window seat of this unit, just watching the scenery. That said, the window is so vast, I would not recommend a small child for this rental. Since it is a corner unit, it is very private and quiet. Unlike most units in the building, people cannot pass in front of kitchen and bathroom windows. Because the unit is on the 18th floor and spans the depth of the building, ventilation is excellent. At times, we almost completely closed the windows. The unit is very well appointed. I cooked a lot while staying there and found most everything I needed in the kitchen. The king bed is very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is excellent. The washer/dryer functioned well. The management is very responsive, receptive to suggestions and quick to solve any problems. Colony Surf is a wonderful building and immaculately maintained. It is in a prime location, across the street from Kapiolani Park and a short walk to Waikiki. The beach behind the building is lovely and swimming is sweet there. It abuts the Outrigger Canoe Club, so there are always canoes coming and going which is fun to watch. Kaimana Beach is on the other side, and it is also a beautiful place to relax. Really, the location can't be matched. The bus runs right out front, and if you have a car, the parking space is very convenient. I recommend this rental without reservation. It surpassed my expectations."

  • Fabulous location, helpful management, upscale unit

"The location of the Watermark is perfect – I mean really perfect. It is only a 10-minute walk to Ala Moana shopping center where there is a grocery store and every high-end store imaginable, and a 15-minute walk to the very heart of Waikiki with lots of restaurants in all directions. The condo has a magnificent open-air lobby, great pool with spa, smallish gym, sauna, and 4 great shared BBQ’s in the common outdoor area. The staff at the desk is very kind and helpful, if not terribly knowledgeable. The Sunset Suite itself is on the 34h floor and has some wonderful features and some to be aware of depending on what is important to you. The kitchen is of good size with all the appliances, dishes, pots and pans one could need. The lanai is small but the view is spectacular, and both bathrooms and bedrooms are nice and functional with large showers with good water pressure. The living room is a bit small as it is shared with the dining table and there is only one couch and one chair. The flat screen TV is large and well positioned. The primary downside is that there is limited airflow in the unit --- the windows only open a few inches in each bedroom and they open down so very little air comes through. The sliding doors in the living, though, are very nice. The air conditioning is great in the living room and the 2nd bedroom, but a bit weak in the master bedroom. Fortunately there is a portable fan, which really helps. For those of us who love fresh air and do not like air conditioning, this unit was a bit of a challenge. It can be cool outside with a nice breeze, but still a bit warm inside. But, if you do not mind air conditioning, this will not be a problem. The management company was very helpful from start to finish including arranging for housecleaning as we requested and handling repairs in a timely manner. There are two parking spaces, which come in handy if you want to rent a car."

"Banyan has really worked hard to renovate the whole property. I've had a timeshare here for years, but rent a unit in my off year. Rooms are WAY nicer than they used to be. The coffee shop will go head to head with a Starbucks, (and opens at 5 am, which is a lifesaver, since it's 8 am in my body). You can walk to everything from here, including the Enterprise rent a car, for the days you plan to drive. I just got back, and already have next years trip on the book."

  • Nice Waikiki Condo

"4 night stay. So nice being so close to Waikiki Beach! Perfect location for walking to all shops and restaurants. We enjoyed Hilton's Friday night fireworks from the private rooftop pool area. Room was clean, bright, and nicely decorated. Brand new updates to the bathroom and kitchen were beautiful! Air conditioner was appreciated since there were no trade winds while we were there and temps were in the 90's. If you have a car, parking was $25 for 24hrs. Honolulu traffic was horrible (2nd only to LA). Take a GPS device with you to help navigate all the one-ways and best routes to Pearl Harbor, airport and other attractions. Owner was very organized. Reservations and transactions went smoothly. Nice having a contact person on-site for any needed assistance. Nice being on the upper floors that offer nice views off the lanai. We especially liked the view of all the city lights at night. Lovely stay."
