Recent Royal Garden at Waikiki reviews

  • Waikiki Getaway!

"Great suite with lanais facing the east (morning sun) and west (afternoon sun). Added attraction of a great viewing area for the fireworks from the Hilton on Friday night. The Royal Garden is first class in all aspects and the staff bring a feeling of Aloha to work everyday. Any little glitches were dealt with by staff or Hazel. Spacious, clean and comfortable suite will make your trip to Waikiki one to remember."

  • Family of 4 Adults 2 Children

"We recently returned from a 10 day stay at this property. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. The property suited our needs. Certainly the place could use some updating, but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of our stay. The property mostly met our standards of cleanliness, except for the floors which were very dirty. We found food on the floor when we arrived and I did wash the floors. The washing rag soon became extremely dirty. This did not ruin our stay, but it took two washings before the floors were clean. I contacted Hazel and she offered to have housekeeping come and clean them, but by then they were clean. The kitchen needed a bit of extra attention as well. The carpets were clean and the bathrooms were clean. We found staff friendly and helpful. As reported the pool was cold. The area was nice and very well kept. We did go down and play on the grassy area with the children and dip our feet in the pool. The night we arrived we took a cab to the Walmart to get supplies. It had a good selection of groceries, but does not have a full selection of fruits and vegetables or fresh meat if you were interested in using the BBQ's at the pool area. For those supplies we went to The Food Pantry (2370 Kuhio) which was no more than a 10 minute walk. $6.00 cab ride home if you have too many groceries to carry. We found the apartment totally accessible to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We spent most days at the beach, walking through Fort Derussy Park. It was a 10 minute walk, walking quickly pushing a double stroller. We often came home for lunch and a rest and it was easy to do. We usually went out for supper to child friendly restaurants within walking distance: Hard Rock Cafe, Cheesecake Factory (very busy), Cheeseburger Waikiki and surprisingly Jimmy Buffett's Restaurant. (It had a children's menu and we were there early so it was fine for the kids.) We also went out for a nice adult supper (1 couple at a time) to Ocean House in the Outrigger Reef Hotel. This is on the beach with sunset views and close to the condo. I made reservations for oceanfront seats about 2 weeks ahead of time. We walked to the zoo one morning which was very easy to do. Probably about a 20 minute walk. We also booked an excursion through the desk at the hotel to visit Sea Life Park. If you are looking at this property you know that 3 bedrooms are hard to find. The pros outweighed the cons and I would stay again."

  • Amazing Condo

"We arrived and immediately loved the condo! It was perfect for the two of us and the bed was amazing. Security checked us in and from there they welcomed us at the concierge desks with lei's. I had an idea of tours I wanted to do and Gregg at the concierge desk helped me book them all in 15 minutes plus he booked 3 different restaurants and made reservations for us. The beach is a short walk away and the bus system is extremely efficient. I recommend anyone using the bus to download the app for it. From the hotel you can walk to all the restaurants and stores on the strip which is always alive with people. The owner answered all my questions promptly before my arrival which I greatly appreciated."

  • Wow, what a find!

"This apartment was perfect for us - great kitchen & frig for frying up eggs & sausage with coffee in the AM, killer views from the balcony (lanai), super comfy bed, powerful shower, tons of shelving for clothes, welcoming decor and in walking distance of all the restaurants, shopping and live music Waikiki has to offer. State of the art air climate control, yet we did not need it - we often left the lanai doors open and enjoyed rainbows on the mountain side which was such a neat contrast to the city skyline. This was the perfect home base too, we rented a car and did day trip adventures to the North Shore and East Coast and were so happy to have parking on premises with valets bringing our car around whenever we needed. There is a great public bus system too. The staff welcomed us as if we had been their for years, we felt very safe and enjoyed a nice rapport with them, they even had stamps for letters we wanted to send out. My husband and I liked it so much we were sorry we only had 9 days, we felt like it was our apartment and got very used to the fine treatment and the solace of our own place. We will definitely stay again and tell others to book early and grab this perfectly located spot!"
