"This is a small gem. Located across from Kapiolani Park, with a sweeping view of the ocean. We were here for part of our Honeymoon and it was perfect. We will be recommending this unit to our family and friends and look forward to returning again some day!"

"Just started our stay in this condo and I couldn't be happier. We knew the location would be great as we always stay in the area, and we knew the building was older because we stayed here once before. This room is at the back of the building, and although there is no view it's quiet and the tree right outside blocks some of the other buildings. The suite has a murphy bed that is very comfortable, and the living area is roomy enough that we just leave it down. The remodeling looks to be recent, and the place was scruplulously clean. Towels, beach towels, extra blanket and beach chairs and boogie boards are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped and the fridge is large enough for a weeks worth of groceries plus there is a full size freezer. Lots of storage in the wall unit and there is a small wardrobe. Nowhere to hang full length dresses but that's a minor inonvenience. Also provided are an iron, hair dryer and all cleaning supplies. The last condo we stayed in had none of those. Barbara arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and made sure we had everything we needed - even bringing toilet paper in case none had been left. Barbara responded quickly to emails while booking and made everything easy. Grocery shopping within walking distance as are all the restaurants and attractions of Waikiki. The beach is literally across the street from this building. We could not hear any noise from the bar on the second floor. I highly recommend this host and unit."

"My wife and I had four enjoyable nights at the Bird Cage. It was our first trip to Hawaii, so we wanted to do things like tour Pearl Harbor, climb Diamond Head, and visit the Polynesian Cultural Center. The Bird Cage fit our needs perfectly. We loved being only a half-block from Waikiki Beach, yet away from the crowds. We loved the view from the 10th floor deck, where we enjoyed our breakfast two mornings. We were able to easily drive to the other places on Oahu we visited. We really appreciated the great beach chairs and the cooler when we went to the beach. Kevin responded quickly to our questions each time we contacted him prior to arriving, and his manager, Jeannie, also very responsive while we were there. All in all, the Bird Cage was great lodging at a very reasonable price."

"We loved staying here! This condo is located in a fantastic area of Waikiki, just half a block to the beautiful beach, mere steps away from not one but two ABC stores, and a 15-second walk away from one of our favourite restaurants, Lulu's, as well as many others.
The view from this place was just amazing - even better than in the photos here. We woke up to the sounds of birds and zoo animals and opened the curtains to a 180-degree view of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean. It's hard to want to leave the balcony!
The room itself is very well equipped and a great size for a one or two week stay. The bed is very comfy and there are lots of great touches to improve your stay, such as beach chairs, coolers and beach towels to borrow. There is a microwave, coffee machine and hot plate as well as fridge/freezer - it's not a place for cooking big meals, but ideal for rustling up some snacks.
I would say the room is larger than it appears on the photos too. Cosy but definitely comfortable for two people on vacation, with lots of storage space for clothes and shoes. You can fit luggage under the bed also. Everything was clean - the shower is a little tricky to get the water to be a consistent temperature, but this was no big deal for us. The air conditioning was perfect and easy to use, with a 'quiet' mode when you're sleeping.
There is also a fantastic sun deck on the 10th floor with an even bigger view of Diamond Head and the beach. A perfect place to enjoy a few drinks in the sun. The hotel is also home to a great burger place and Hula's, a fun and gay-friendly bar. You can sometimes hear the music from the bar at night and in the afternoon when you're out on the balcony, but not when the balcony doors are closed. We enjoyed listening to the music, but just be aware if you prefer a very quiet place that there is also a little bit of noise from the road outside. It's not an especially busy road but there are buses and trucks that occasionally go by. You're on the 6th floor so it's not that bad.
The hotel desk (the hotel management company is a separate was kind enough to look after our bags while we waited for our late flight, and the staff seemed very friendly. Bill and Charles, who own the condo, gave excellent customer service at all stages of the process. All in all a fantastic place to stay, in a perfect location."
