  • Great condo steps away from Waikiki beach!!

"The unit was exactly as the Benson and Lily displayed in their pictures on VRBO. The layout was nice and the lanai got plenty of use during our short stay. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family. The kitchen area was fantastic, unfortunate that we did not take advantage of that during our stay. The pool area was nice a plus, but it was a bit on the small side compared to others near by. However, you cannot beat a 2 or 3 minute walk to the beach from the hotel. If we were to visit Oahu again we would seriously consider going back to Benson and Lily for their unit. I would seriously consider this condo unit to anyone with parties of 5 or less. PERFECT!!!"

  • Great value for money

"I have already stayed at the Ilikai twice before and when researching where to stay in Honolulu for my third stay, like most people, I looked at a number of places, yet kept coming back to the Ilikai because its one of the only places where you can get an ocean view with a balcony and a kitchen for around the $200 mark and this unit fulfilled all those criteria so back to the Ilikai I came. This was my first stay in this unit and it met my expectations. I loved the view out over the marina and ocean, my husband loved the day bed (although I found it a bit big!), we both found the bed lovely and comfortable to sleep in and the kitchen well equipped and the unit clean and well maintained. Because the Ilikai is an older building, it is quieter and I love this end of town, close enough to walk to the Ala Moana Centre and with lots of interesting places in the neighbourhood to eat at and explore. Owners were easy to deal with through their agent and really, on a value for money basis, this unit had what we wanted. Recommended."

  • Our Christmas Vacation in Paradise

"We enjoyed our stay in your condo. The location is perfect and we had everything we needed to make our stay complete. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer along with a full size stove and refrigerator. How nice to eat breakfast out on the lanai. One suggestion--maybe a TV in the bedroom. When on vacation it's nice to relax and watch some TV from your bed, while kids are watching Sponge Bob in the living room!! Building has good security. We felt very safe there."

  • Good (with some reservations).

"The unit was as advertised, and was in a very good location, next to the Ala Moana Mall. I am involved in managing a resort hotel, so am perhaps more particular than most. E.g.the grout around the tub was deteriorated, and mold was starting to form. The hotel makes clear that a private owner/manager is responsible, but they could provide no information about who that was, and there was no such information in the room. The TVs" "guide" feature did not work, and there was no list of available channels. I would have preferred some laundry availability, or at least maid service, but was not able to get it. I evaluate rooms by how good the bed and shower are, and both were good. Some CFL bulbs were out, but extras were on hand. A dish towel and dish rag would have been nice, rather than using bath towels. These are apparently all recently remodeled units (according to realtor posters). I was surprised that there was no bathroom vent fan (which would have been code where I live). At the realtor's advertised prices, these units should have a fabulous ROI, and many appear available. This 21st floor unit was quiet enough, but the hall way doors shut loud enough to wake the dead. I appreciated being close to the huge mall, as it offered many dining and gathering opportunities, and being a block from the park was a plus also. The unit is positioned well to take in sunsets, though I would have preferred the other end of the building. The rates are on a par with what we charge, so no complaint there (although most VRBO's in the area were rented at the time I went, so no real way to compare). Overall, a favorable experience."
