  • Winter Escape

"We spent a wonderful 6 week vacation here, in February and March of 2015. The unit feels really spacious and it worked very well for us. The views of the mountain as well as the beach and ocean were wonderful. I really appreciated the excellent and reliable internet connection. I am semi retired but still do a fair bit of work on my computer, so it was great to keep this going and be able to stay in touch with my colleagues in the UK and Canada, in a couple of hours before sunrise each day. We both enjoy snorkelling, and about half the days we were there the ocean was calm and clear enough for us to have some great snorkelling seeing fish and turtles, particularly at the south end of the beach around the rocks at the base of Mauna Lahi Lahi. When the sea was to rough for snorkelling, it was still nice to sit and read on the beach, it was great fun to see the surfers and paddle-boarders right off the shore and we particularly enjoyed watching the local kids, who arrived after school, having so much fun along the edge with their boogie boards. We had, what for us was an added bonus of on three separate days, a Monk Seal choosing to spend the day on the beach. We didn’t feel the need to venture away from Waianae and the beach too often: we found that, apart from a few trips to Safeway in Kapolei, the Waianae Store, could supply most of what we needed and the folks there are so friendly, and their malasadas fantastic. We did do the hikes into Kaena Point from both directions and were rewarded with seeing more monk seals on the beach, whales breaching off the north shore walk and then albatrosses and their chicks nesting at the point."

  • Amazing Sunsets and Ocean Views!

"The condo is on the 8th floor and the views of the ocean are awesome. We spent all our evenings on the lanai and watched humpback whales, dolphines, and turtles. The condo is very well stocked with all you require for a comfortable stay. The bed was perfect! The beach is beautiful but not ideal for beach walking as the sand is very soft. Thanks Rob and Paula for allowing us to stay in your condo! It was a great stay."

  • Perfect Productivity in a "Home away from home!"

"This property provided the perfect home away from home for an extended writing sabbatical. The owners were accessible via phone to answer questions and provided MANY extras that made me feel like a guest in their home. The beds were quite comfortable and because I was there to work on a book, I appreciated the office space and wireless printer that were available. Proximity to great grocery shopping (and a Costco) made preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen easy and pleasant. Beautiful walks within the Ko'Olina property were a great way to begin each day and the sunsets were magnificent. Be sure to visit the Paradise Cove beach early in the mornings if you want to see Hawaiian Monk Seals ... I had several opportunities to watch these magnificent creatures. I can't think of ANY reason not to recommend this property. I hope to return again!"

  • Very nice and very affordable!

"This unit was a great fit for our family vacation. We had 3 adults and 4 teenagers (17, 14, 14 and 14) in our party and this condo met all of our needs very well. The unit itself was very clean, spacious and well outfitted. The beds and bedding were exactly as advertised (very comfortable), the kitchen is well equipped and made meal preparations very easy. The two lanais are very nice. The lower one is right off the living/dining rooms, which make meals outside very convenient, and the upper lanai off the master suite is perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails and relaxation overlooking the pool. The bedrooms are all very nice, spacious and comfortable. The master suite is nothing short of fantastic! The unit does not have its own BBQ, but the extremely close proximity to the BBQ at the pool made up for not having one on the lanai. The owner provides a nice array of coolers, beach chairs, beach towels and beach toys that will fit any family or group using this unit. This unit is truly only a 10 minute walk to Lagoon #1 at Ko Olina, and there is a nice variety of shops and restaurants on the way to the Lagoon. Several of the neighbors are permanent residents, and they were all very friendly and made us and our children feel right at home. The owner obviously takes a lot of pride in the decor and upkeep of this unit. She is very quick to respond to emails and questions, is very thorough in all business aspects of the rental procedure, and has chosen very good people to quickly and efficiently take care of any and all issues that may arise. We requested a mid-stay cleaning as our parents are using this unit for the last half of the month, and both the owner and the house cleaner were very agreeable and easy to work with. My wife and I have stayed in Coconut Plantation before, in a different unit, but we would definitely stay at this unit again and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay that is NOT in Honolulu."
