  • Paradise in Paradise

"I cannot say enough about how WONDERFUL our experience was in this condo. Our family of 4 (w/2 teenaged girls) stayed here in August 2013. (sorry for the delay in the review, Vicky) The condo was superb and much better than expected; plenty of space and nicely furnished. The location couldn't be better. Steps to the beautiful Honu Lagoon #2 (the best lagoon). We snorkeled with the resident Sea Turtles every day in the lagoon. We strolled along the sea every morning. The condo is beautiful and well-stocked with everything you'll need for a relaxing vacation. And the SUNSET off the lanai! We had a breathtaking experience every evening. Vicky was so attentive to our every need. If there was an issue, she handled it. I don't understand some of the negative comments about the resort. Everyone was very nice. No one yelled at us for doing anything wrong. The owners and the condo assoc. are in a dispute so the fitness center is off limits, but that's the only restriction which certainly wasn't a big deal to us. Unobstructed ocean view from the lanai. We enjoyed breakfast out there every morning. Comfortable beds, washer/dryer, plenty of towels. One of the best things is all of the beach chairs and snorkel equipment. I think there must be 10 sets of snorkel equipment! HINT: go down to the lagoon EARLY, like 7am and put your stuff under one of the very few palapas on the beach. You'll be glad you have one later because they go quickly. I went down every morning at 7 and drank a cup of coffee while gazing out at the ocean on the beach and then took a nice walk before going back to the condo to wake the rest of the fam. We truly enjoyed NOT being on the congested Waikiki area. The community of Ko Olina is wonderful. There is a nice shopping plaza within walking distance with amazing coffee shop (Island Vintage Coffee), ice cream, restaurants, and an ABC convenience store. There's a Safeway one exit away for bigger shopping. Head East to the Farmer's Market on Saturday to stocl up on fresh fruits and vegetables (be sure to try the freshly made-on-location poi- it's an acquired taste for sure). The Disney Aulani resort is next door (empty lot in between). We had dinner there one night. We are so glad we didn't stay there. What a ZOO! But it was nice walking around to experience the Disney Vibe. The only negative in our entire trip is that it couldn't be longer! Thanks, Vicky, for making this the best family trip ever."

  • 40th anniversary

"Overall very satisfied. The unit is fine. View great. Beach great. We were fine with area and location. I would say if coming to Hawaii for 1st time this isn't probably what you are imagining. There are several rules the manager enforces and took couple days to figure out but no big deal. We certainly plane to go back but saw something on posted in 2015 they will only allow monthly rental so not sure about that."

  • Great Beach Living

"This beach side cabana in the Makaha Beach Cabanas was excellent. The cabana was very clean with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of gear for beach fun. The beaches in Makaha are gorgeous and not at all crowded like the beaches near Honolulu or the North Shore. Although it only took about an hour to get to the beaches on the North Shore from this cabana and 30 minutes to get to Waikiki beach, as long as you don’t travel during rush hour. It should be noted that if you are looking for fancy resort style living with room service than this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for a great Hawaiian vacation on an uncrowned beautiful beach than this place is perfect. Sitting on the Lanai (patio) at sunset watching the ocean can’t be beat."

  • Great Family Vacation House

"Our family stayed in the house for two weeks. I would recommend this house for anyone who wants a fantastic back yard right on the beach. We saw spinner dolphins from the lanai on several occasions, and yes they were out of the water spinning, monk seals on the beach and many, many, turtles. The younger group of family swam out to the turtle cleaning station. The house has everything you need for cooking, large kitchen table for playing games with the family, long counters to have buffet style dinners, picnic tables for the back lawn (we ate dinner out there several times), and beach equipment. Inga's Realty was great to book our trip through. This is the more rural side of the island, so rent a car if you want to travel around the island. Plenty of parking at the house. Thank you for sharing your house."
