  • Perfect vacation

"As I was planning our first trip to Hawaii (4 adults, 3 kids 1-17), I wasn't sure whether to choose a condo or beach house. This Villa ended up being the perfect compromise. Yes, you are on your own private kid friendly beach, and but you also have access to nightlife (nearby, but not TOO close), luxurious pools, a workout room, a Disney resort.......I can't speak highly enough of this place. As a family, we love to splurge on one AMAZING vacation a year, and this was, by far, the best place we have ever stayed. How exciting to stay in a 1.5 million dollar PENTHOUSE for a week, and be treated by royalty. The view from the lanai was a perfect way to start and end the day. The villa itself provided everything we needed (Don't lug your beach towels, snorkel gear, sand toys, in your beach gear!) This place had everything (4 beach chairs, large rolling cooler, crib, high chair, portable fan, extensively stocked kitchen, wine refrigerator). We rarely ate out, because it was so much fun to cook or grill and eat there. The entire staff was amazing, Blane, Daniel, and the bartenders at the pool bar were an exceptional resource. They were warm and friendly and went out of your way to offer assistance, even if you weren't buying anything at the time. At night, it was fun to walk down the path to the other busier parts of the resort, but I was so thankful that ours was much more laid back and WAY less crowded. I had read the previous reviews, and made sure to set aside a full day (and other half days) to just enjoy this place. I am so glad we did. Thanks again for this PERFECT family vacation!!"

  • Excellent Vacation home

"Nice duplex and pictures are accurate except they now have a flat screen TV in the main room. Washer dryer were a great plus, covered parking as excellent as well. Oranges and limes in the back yard. It is a little ways up on a mountain so this helped keep the duplex cool. Lots of cars were parked on the street, but I guess this is typical for Oahu. Christmas lights help locate the house and our Garmin drove us right up to the house in the evening which was nice. Bedrooms are really nice, and the wall of Lei’s is pretty cool. Rest of the house looks like your parents den, nice and comfy. Kitchen had micro, fridge with freezer, oven and everything you could want to cook. A real bargain on Oahu as many of the other places we looked at were really expensive. We spent the day in Pearl Harbor. Did most of it in about a ½ day and still had some beach time as well. We got to Pearl Harbor at 7:30am and the parking was about ½ full. People were leaving like crazy at noon, so that might be another good time to arrive if you are doing the afternoon tour. Mighty MO was about a 5 minute free bus ride, then Hickman field is the next bus stop. We started with the Mighty MO for about an hour and it was really empty in the morning. We looked at the first hanger, but did not go to hanger 69 with the jet display. We rode the bus back to the main complex then did the sub tour in about a ½ hour. Below is single file, kind of hot and a little closed in but lots of shiny gauges and such. We had a 10:45am Arizona tour time we booked 6 months in advance. You have to book at least that early to ensure you get tickets and a time you want. They do save tickets for same day purchase, but the day we were there it started at 12:45pm for the first available tour. You take a ferry out to the Arizona and spend about 15 minutes there. It was getting really full around lunch time, and we did the submarine museum then left for lunch. The Ko Olina beach was nice soft sand with golf course grass and spots under palms, but no coral in the lagoon. Some fish by the break waters but you need fins and aqua shoes as the rocks are very sharp. The lagoon is very calm and great for small kids. Golf course type grass and everyone tries to get a spot under a palm tree for some shade."

"Thank you Missi for the use of your wonderful property. We have been to Oahu a number of times but never stayed at such a luxurious place before. It had everything and more. The location is private and secure and views were spectacular. WE WILL BE BACK, GUARANTEED!"

  • Great place to stay!

"This is the nicest place we have ever stayed on any Hawaiian island. We wanted a lovely condo for spring break and this penthouse fit the bill! Our children are ages 17 and 10. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The view is spectacular and we spent a good portion of time on the lanai. The property itself is lovely. Check-in was easy; parking was close to the back entrance and private elevator. Close enough to walk to nearby Disney Aulani or Marriott resorts, as well as small shopping center with ABC Store, fantastic Monkeypod Restaurant (better than any restaurant in the resorts), plus taco, pizza and ice cream/coffee shops. Lagoon #2 (which is in front of the Ko'Olina Beach Resort) is the best of the four lagoons. Get down there early to snag one of the giant beach umbrellas because you can't put up your own. Snorkelling was great and we saw turtles almost every day. The Disney lagoon has paddleboarding, kayaking and other water activities, but it tends to be very crowded.. which is why Lagoon #2 is best. The Ko'Olina also has the outdoor bar right by the pool and beach. To-go cups are great! We also enjoyed the "quiet" lap pool; when some kids were getting noisy, the manager came over and told them to "shhhh!" and go to the kids pool. But back to the condo; every amenity inside you'll need.. all utensils, pots, pans, glasses, spices, even ketchup & condiments in the fridge left over from previous guests. Really appreciated the HUGE beach towels (which we used every day), plus the big storage box of beach toys, chairs, soft cooler bag. Very convenient so we did not have to bring or buy our own. One thing I would suggest is if you are very sensitive to noise when you sleep, bring a set of earplugs because at night the Trade Winds get very loud and manage to find the tiniest openings in the bedroom windows. No matter what you do, you cannot drown them out. And you can't close the windows more than they already are. The kids' bedroom is the loudest. However, I would definitely stay here again if we came back to Kalopei. Daniel, the owner, is great, extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful time!"

Kapolei Travel Tips

Welcome to Paradise: Kapolei Vacation Rentals

For many people the word "Hawaii" alone draws up images of pristine beaches, swaying palm fronds, and fantasies of long days on the beach soaking up sun, swimming, and generally leaving the workaday life behind. Kapolei, which is currently being developed as an urban center in Oahu in addition to the already developed Honolulu, is sometimes also referred to as "West Oahu." As the city develops and expands so do the number of Kapolei vacation rentals and rentable Kapolei condos.

Extra Sun, Please

One of the best parts of staying in one of the Kapolei vacation rentals is having access to the beaches on the wester side of the island, which usually receives less rain. West Oahu beach rentals are great for people who are looking for beautiful beaches that are not usually very crowded.

Some of the best places to visit on the western side of the island include Ko Olina Resort & Marina, Yokohama Bay & Ka`ena Point, and Makaha Beach. All of these places are accessible to people who are staying in Kapolei vacation rentals, Kapolei condos, or West Oahu beach rentals.

Paradise at a Nice Price

Vacationers who stay in Kapolei vacation rentals, Kapolei condos, or West Oahu beach rentals stand to save a good bit of money on their vacations. By cooking just one meal every day instead of eating in a restaurant, you can save as much as hundreds of dollars on your vacation, even if you are only going away for a long weekend. Cooking is rarely an option in hotels except for in rooms that are equipped with kitchenettes, which are usually pricier than standard rooms anyway.

Also, most people like to launder their beach wear before returning home so as not to unpack a bag full of sand and mildew. Laundry facilities are standard in most vacation rentals whereas laundry services in hotels are wildly expensive.
