  • Awesome vacation

"We enjoyed this beautiful house for 10 days at the end of April. It was wonderful. There were four generations in our party. From 88 to 3 year old. It was comfortable for everybody. There are no stairs on the first floor, which is very important for the oldest generation. There is a lot of space inside and outside for the kids to play. The beach is right behind the house. There is Pokai bay beach two mile away which has very calm water on one side of the bay , perfect for the little kids. The northern side of the bay is good for surfing. There is a little beach at the end of the street with sea turtles. Plenty of fun for everybody. The owner Jackie is very nice and helpful. Thank you Jackie and Greg, we hope to come back next year."

  • Spectacular view!

"I wanted a place away from the hustle and bustle and craziness of downtown Honolulu for our stay on Oahu with my husband, my 2 aunts (ages 92 and 88) and myself. This place was lovely. Carolyn has thought of everything you could possibly want or need (and more) to enjoy your stay. The beds were very comfortable. This would be a great place for families with children or several couples. The view from the patio is so gorgeous. I loved watching the sun come up in the morning and listening to the surf. Very nice place!"

  • Makaha Beach House

"My family and I spent a very lovely 7 days at the House in mid October, 2014. The group consisted of my two daughters, myself and wife. We had a great time, everything was as described. Debbie, the property manager was very helpful and on point with all her assistance. Although Makaha can be sketchy at night, I'm a retired Peace Offer from California and take safety and security very seriously, we had no issues and felt very safe. The neighborhood where the house is located is VERY NICE and secure. We absolutely loved the house, everything you need is there. You'll only need to buy groceries. There's a local store approx 3-4 miles from the house located on Farrington Hwy. One sunset at the house is worth the price of admission, you'll love it. Thanks Rebecca and Debbie for everything. Also note, I'd suggest going to buy groceries after you check into the house, because there are several items ie, condiments, spices, coffee ect that were already there."

  • Nice house, beautiful location, nice beaches, we had a great time

"My wife son (20) and daughter (17) spent 8 great days at the Makaha Beach House. Every day the house and location began to grow me more and more. The house is as the pictures, with the exception of the beach in front. In the winter you will see more rocks in front. The house is not a perfect 5 star luxury villa, but it is very nice and all the appliances work great. The view is beautiful! Waves crash right in front of the house. Showers work great, we never ran out of hot water. Washer & Dryer worked great. Kitchen is very nice, good stove, oven, toaster, and fridge. The Master Bathroom is huge with two shower heads, the living room is huge. There are two bedrooms, but the living room works well for a third bedroom, my daughter spent every night on the sofa bed. There is cable TV and excellent WiFi. The WiFi upload speed was 10-15MB, download was 1MB. This is three times the speed that I have at my home on the mainland. The previous renter mentioned an issue with ants, the grill and cleanliness. When we checked in, the house was clean, we did not see ants, and the grill has been replaced. We did have a few questions and an issue with the gate. We contacted Vicky and she had it taken care of. Vicky is very easy to work with. Suggestion: If you find something not to your liking, let Vicky know about it and I’m sure she will do her best to resolve the situation. Suggestions when you stay: 1: Take Surf lessons ASAP, so you can enjoy surfing the rest of your trip. We booked our lessons with Danny Boro Danny took great care of us, taught my entire family how to surf, and we used his boards for the next three days. Danny is very trusting and gave us a great deal on board rental. The lessons / equipment are at the Piliaau Army Rec Center. This is a great place to learn to surf. For more advanced surfers, you have Makaha Beach! 2: Rent or buy Snorkel gear. There is great snorkeling at Makaha Beach, you will probably use the Snorkel gear at any of the beaches. Also there are two boogyboards at the house, so you can use your fins with the boards. If you rent, rent local, this way when you return it, you don’t need to make an extra trip into Honolulu and deal with the traffic. 3. Stock up on groceries. Waianae is the closest town, it is about 3 miles to the South, they have large grocery store. 4. Traffic: Avoid Honolulu during rush hour!"
