"VRBO reviews always assist us on our trips. Every single positive review on this property rings true. You will never find more accommodating hosts anywhere else on your visit to Oahu! The Baileys are true gems, honest, kind, your advocate in every way, and forever friends after you meet them. Chance is precious, and we enjoyed listening to his adventures on the island as well. Whether you are a loner or a socialite, these folks will leave you alone or engage you in conversation. It's up to you. They are the perfect hosts!
This estate is a three story dwelling. The bottom floor is where we stayed! It's huge, perfect, magazine beautiful!! What a blessing this was!! The Baileys live on the second floor, and the studio is on the third. It's comforting having the owners so close at hand, but they stay busy and will not engage you unless you engage them. Completely perfect hosts!!! I personally enjoyed my talks with each of them and can't wait to see them again!!
The first night we stayed close to the airport so that we could visit Pearl Harbor. The remainder of the trip, we stayed on the west shore in Makaha Beach at this glorious estate. We even started on a day trip away from our "home" and quickly returned missing its serenity.
The west shore is away from all the tourists and noise and allows you to enjoy the heart of paradise. You are still close enough to the south shore (Waikiki and Honolulu) if you are wanting more loud action. Carolyn's number is saved in my phone. She returned my texts often giving us amazing advice on where to shop, where to dine, and tips and tricks to navigate getting the most out of our brief time in Oahu. One week is not enough time. We had planned to drive the entire island and see each shore. We only got to see the South and West and once we got "home," like I said, we did not want to leave.
I'm a cat person. The feral cats that roam the west shore travel through this property, get fed, get loved on, and leave you alone, again, unless you engage them.
We spent every morning watching the sun rise, coffee in hand, and every evening watching the sun set. It's like no sunrise or sunset you have ever seen. Each minute the sky turns a different color. The beauty of it all literally brought tears to my eyes. Carolyn lets you take your beach chairs to the ocean to enjoy sunning. We saw dolphins jumping and rainbows often! We swam with gorgeous fish. Bring swim shoes! I've run out of room! Come!!!!!"
