  • real neat place

"we enjoyed the condo - it is small, but very well maintained & equipped - right on the ocean - the waves were loud at night, but very lovely view - we saw turtles & whales on a regular basis - the dogs across the street did bark in the evening & the roosters crowed in the morning - this being said this is a great spot away from the big city - you will need a car - very pleasant & relaxing...."

Makaha Travel Tips

Makaha Rentals to Visit “Old Hawaii”

Makaha rentals, located on the west coast of Oahu, are in the perfect location for experiencing “Old Hawaii.” The area is the sunniest and driest part of Oahu. Close to all Makaha condos, you will find hiking trails, championship golf courses and the famous Makaha Surfing Beach. With Makaha rentals, you can be close to the beach yet still have easy access to all other attractions available on Oahu.

Makaha Condos Are Where Experienced Surfers Find a Winter Wonderland

Makaha Beach is famous for its surfing and snorkeling. In winter, the surfing is definitely for the experienced. Makaha Beach is world-renowned for having the most challenging conditions in the whole of Hawaii. Near Makaha rentals, waves over 25 feet have been recorded during the winter months. During the summer, the sea surrounding Makaha condos is much calmer, making it a popular destination for scuba diving. Close to your Oahu lodging choice is one of the most popular destinations for diving, the Makaha Caverns, a series of arches, caverns, and overhanging ledges.

Makaha Rentals away from the Beach

Makaha is not all about the surfing and unspoiled white sandy beaches. In late winter, you may see whales passing by, or you may want to experience swimming with dolphins. A variety of restaurants are available to cover all tastes and budgets, close to all Makaha condos. If you fancy some time away from the beach, there are nearby golf courses, hiking trails and historic sites. The Waianae-Kaala Trail has been described as the best hikes in Oahu. Close to your Oahu lodging are historic sites including Oahu's best restored Hawaiian heiau (temple) located in Makaha Valley. Within easy reach of Makaha rentals are the Ko Olina Lagoons which are perfect swimming sites for children.

Oahu Lodging near Honolulu

The independent traveler can discover many other attractions close to Oahu lodging in Makaha. The more famous parts of Oahu are easily reached from your Makaha rentals, making for great day trips.
