  • Very nice. Quiet area. Everything we needed

"Very nice place to stay. We had 5 people in the 3 bedroom villa and there was plenty of room for everyone. The villa was stocked with what we needed. I'm glad we stayed in Ko Olina - it was a nice, quiet area. When we went to Waikiki and Honolulu, it was very busy and crowded and that is not what we were looking for in our stay in Hawaii. We did have to drive to the lagoons but parking was always available so that was not a problem. It is also a nice area to walk in the morning. I would recommend this villa and the Ko Olina area if you are looking for a place to stay without all the crowds and traffic. We rented a car and did sight seeing every day and it was nice to come back to this villa at the end of the day. If you're planning on just staying in Ko Olina and the beaches there, you should consider renting a golf cart for your stay to get around the resort."

  • Nice house, beautiful location, nice beaches, we had a great time

"My wife son (20) and daughter (17) spent 8 great days at the Makaha Beach House. Every day the house and location began to grow me more and more. The house is as the pictures, with the exception of the beach in front. In the winter you will see more rocks in front. The house is not a perfect 5 star luxury villa, but it is very nice and all the appliances work great. The view is beautiful! Waves crash right in front of the house. Showers work great, we never ran out of hot water. Washer & Dryer worked great. Kitchen is very nice, good stove, oven, toaster, and fridge. The Master Bathroom is huge with two shower heads, the living room is huge. There are two bedrooms, but the living room works well for a third bedroom, my daughter spent every night on the sofa bed. There is cable TV and excellent WiFi. The WiFi upload speed was 10-15MB, download was 1MB. This is three times the speed that I have at my home on the mainland. The previous renter mentioned an issue with ants, the grill and cleanliness. When we checked in, the house was clean, we did not see ants, and the grill has been replaced. We did have a few questions and an issue with the gate. We contacted Vicky and she had it taken care of. Vicky is very easy to work with. Suggestion: If you find something not to your liking, let Vicky know about it and I’m sure she will do her best to resolve the situation. Suggestions when you stay: 1: Take Surf lessons ASAP, so you can enjoy surfing the rest of your trip. We booked our lessons with Danny Boro Danny took great care of us, taught my entire family how to surf, and we used his boards for the next three days. Danny is very trusting and gave us a great deal on board rental. The lessons / equipment are at the Piliaau Army Rec Center. This is a great place to learn to surf. For more advanced surfers, you have Makaha Beach! 2: Rent or buy Snorkel gear. There is great snorkeling at Makaha Beach, you will probably use the Snorkel gear at any of the beaches. Also there are two boogyboards at the house, so you can use your fins with the boards. If you rent, rent local, this way when you return it, you don’t need to make an extra trip into Honolulu and deal with the traffic. 3. Stock up on groceries. Waianae is the closest town, it is about 3 miles to the South, they have large grocery store. 4. Traffic: Avoid Honolulu during rush hour!"

  • Excellent condo

"We just returned from our time in Oahu. We can't say enough good things about this condo. It was so homey and comfortable. There was plenty of room and it was well furnished. The location was a perfect match for us. It was peaceful, laid back and beautiful. Kathy and Mary could not have been more helpful and prompt in helping us to book the condo, check in easily and take care of anything we needed from them. We thank you for an amazing accommodation and for making this wonderful place available. We hope to come back soon! By the way, the golf cart was great and helped a lot!"

  • Utter Paradise

"My husband and I just spent 10 nights in Kathy's unit. We were in a different unit in the Cabanas last September as well, spending a week here, then on to a week in Maui--we loved Makaha so much that this year we decided to stay in one place and just soak it in--we didn't even rent a car this time, hopped on The Bus a couple of times for grocery runs. The unit was sparkling clean and fully equipped. I cannot properly express what a paradise Turtle Cove is. If you are looking for nightlife, this is off the beaten path a bit, but if you're looking for peace and relaxation, you cannot beat this place. The weather is always warm, the sunrise is incredible and the sunsets are so beautiful it's like a move scene, cool breezes keep the unit comfortable, the beach never has more than 15-20 people (and it's a good half mile long). Large national chain stores are handy on the way, but we discovered Tamura's Market (2 miles away), and prefer to support the smaller merchants. Cooked dinner every night but one and ate on the beach or on the lanai and our dinner at Coquitos just down the road was over the top. The staff is friendly and helpful, Kathy was quick to respond to any questions we had and is extremely professional. When the only problem with a place is you have to be careful that the ice from the refrigerator door doesn't plop out of the glass and skid across the floor, it doesn't get much better... Cannot wait until we go back!"
