  • Ko Olina is AWESOME!

"Our family loves spending time on the quiet side of Oahu, our third time! If you want night life and lots of crowds stay in Waikiki. If you want calm beaches, lots of sun and relaxation try Ko Olina. Ray's condo is great, he's super nice too! The KBV property is smaller compared to the larger resorts nearby it, but that's what makes this resort the best! The only cons are: the parking stall is tight, but who cares you're normally at the pool(s) or beach lagoon...which is a short walk through lush gardens! And you need to drive to Kapolei for more food options! Our family faves: Koa Pancakes, Costco has poki (pronounce it po-kay), Di-Ichii Ramen, Kazoku Sushi, Aloha Salads, and don't knock Zippy's for Korean Chicken Salad or a Napple! Or drive a bit further into Waipahu for the Leonard's Malasada Mobile! MAHALO and a shout out to 'Blaine' the onsite personal greeter and concierge services at KBV! Just go! Nuff said!"

  • Beyond Outstanding

"This was our second stay and I can't say enough good things about our experience. The resort (Ko Olina), the property (Ko Olina Beach Villas), our specific unit (210) and the staff (Blaine, Marcy, et al) are simply some the best! The management company (Starts International) is also top-flight. The unit itself has all the higher-end appointments you'd expect... and more. The location in proximity to Lagoon 2 is nothing short of ideal. All-in-all an outstanding experience at an exceptional property. We're ready to book again for 2015!"

  • The Perfect Base Camp over Canada/USA July holidays

"Away from the crowds of Waikiki and with easy access to other parts of the island this condo was the perfect 'base-camp' for all our activities. We are adventure seekers that love to explore & hike. But after a long day out traveling about, it's great to come back and cook our own meals and enjoy a quiet beach with only a few friendly locals for company. Everyday at sunrise from the balcony, we watched a family of turtles swim in the surf. Everyday hours before sunset we stayed in the ocean waiting for the green flash then headed to the pool for a final dip. Snorkeling is best along the left side where the turtles live. Waves pickup a little in the afternoon, but not as bad as some other places on the island. Plenty of snorkeling and beach gear in the condo - but we brought our own. There are a couple of boogie boards, chairs, umbrella, games, table-tennis, tennis rackets, and a ukulele! Kitchen is well stocked and very functional. The unit is smaller than what we are used to, but is perfect for a couple. The balcony is roomy and we had our meals there 50% of the time. Some construction was going on during our stay, so we just took off to relax at the beach downstairs. It also gets a little hot in the later afternoon (5-6:30) with the sun shining in on the condo. We used the AC when we first got there, but we soon acclimatized and only needed to have ocean breeze to keep us cool and content! Ko Olinda is about 20 minutes way (so is Costcos). It's nice to spend a day at the Ko Olinda Lagoons. You can go to the different hotels and get pampered during the day (along with the crowds) and then head back to the Condo for an evening swim. Travel to the Dole Plantation and North Point is also good, since you don't have to worry about driving in Waikiki traffic. Some good golf in the area, too (but we didn't go - as the beach outside the condo was too inviting each day!) FYI - You need a car. Also, if you are handicapped, getting into the water at the beach could be a little challenging, since there is a small steep area to get to the surf line (locals use that area as a toboggan run with their boogie boards!). Didn't go to any restaurants in the area (only at Ko Olinda). The Tamura market 2 miles down the street has everything you need grocery-wise, too. (Farmer's Mkt on Sat) Or simply stock up at Costco's on the way from the airport. All-in-all a great modest little place with great views, an excellent quiet beach, and friendly locals."

  • Excellent choice for us

"This is a lovely home in a beautiful area. We found the drive down the tree lined boulevard immediately relaxing. The home, it self, is located in a gated community which is well maintained and quiet. The home is lovely. It is the best that we have ever rented,by far. The kitchen is roomy and well fitted out with every thing that one would need. The living area is comfortable and over looks the golf course. Though we never dined in the house there is a dining table that will seat six comfortably. We ate our meals on the patio where we enjoyed watching the golfers and the birds. It is a quick drive to Costco,Target,Ross and a new TJMaxx is about to open. In the same shopping area a Denny's and a Ruby Tuesday's. Not far away is an Outback Steakhouse. Troy, the property owner, is very gracious and was happy to assist when needed. He was very responsive to our emails. We had a lovely time and would rent this home again when we are able to return to Oahu."
