"Away from the crowds of Waikiki and with easy access to other parts of the island this condo was the perfect 'base-camp' for all our activities. We are adventure seekers that love to explore & hike. But after a long day out traveling about, it's great to come back and cook our own meals and enjoy a quiet beach with only a few friendly locals for company. Everyday at sunrise from the balcony, we watched a family of turtles swim in the surf. Everyday hours before sunset we stayed in the ocean waiting for the green flash then headed to the pool for a final dip. Snorkeling is best along the left side where the turtles live. Waves pickup a little in the afternoon, but not as bad as some other places on the island. Plenty of snorkeling and beach gear in the condo - but we brought our own. There are a couple of boogie boards, chairs, umbrella, games, table-tennis, tennis rackets, and a ukulele! Kitchen is well stocked and very functional. The unit is smaller than what we are used to, but is perfect for a couple. The balcony is roomy and we had our meals there 50% of the time. Some construction was going on during our stay, so we just took off to relax at the beach downstairs. It also gets a little hot in the later afternoon (5-6:30) with the sun shining in on the condo. We used the AC when we first got there, but we soon acclimatized and only needed to have ocean breeze to keep us cool and content! Ko Olinda is about 20 minutes way (so is Costcos). It's nice to spend a day at the Ko Olinda Lagoons. You can go to the different hotels and get pampered during the day (along with the crowds) and then head back to the Condo for an evening swim. Travel to the Dole Plantation and North Point is also good, since you don't have to worry about driving in Waikiki traffic. Some good golf in the area, too (but we didn't go - as the beach outside the condo was too inviting each day!) FYI - You need a car. Also, if you are handicapped, getting into the water at the beach could be a little challenging, since there is a small steep area to get to the surf line (locals use that area as a toboggan run with their boogie boards!). Didn't go to any restaurants in the area (only at Ko Olinda). The Tamura market 2 miles down the street has everything you need grocery-wise, too. (Farmer's Mkt on Sat) Or simply stock up at Costco's on the way from the airport. All-in-all a great modest little place with great views, an excellent quiet beach, and friendly locals."Guest: Blaine L. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 9, 2014View listing
"We had a lovely time in the house. The location was awesome. The house was great. A few nights it was very hot but .... would have enjoyed having some more wine glasses. Really enjoyed the selection of books to read while there. The tidal pools were great to explore nice that the house had water shoes for walking and exploring the tidal pools. The house was as described. I would totally recommend this home to all."Guest: Wendy Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 25, 2014View listing
"Wow is all I can say about this beautiful vacation home. Although the neighbohood seemed kinda intimidating, once inside the gate, we found a beautiful home isolated from the entire neighborhood. House is fully equipped with all the comforts of home to include outdoor beach toys such as kayaks and boogie boards of which my grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. The property manager was available for any problems 24/7 and quickly addressed any issues or concerns. Would we go back again? Most definitely will. We plan on making this an annual vacation to Hawaii and if property is available we plan on renting this beautiful home again. Thank you so much for a memorable vacation in your beautiful home."Guest: Tina Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"My wife and I stayed here with our 2.5 year old & 1 year old, as well as my Mother-in-law. The condo was spacious and had great separation between common eating/sitting area to bedrooms, separated front to back by a hall. Kitchen had all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, etc. we needed and more. Bedrooms are large and all have tv, dvd, etc. Condo also had a rolling day cooler, beach towels, chairs, etc. everything needed to make a beach day easier. The view is great. Condo is on the 5th floor and faces towards the ocean - from the eating, kitchen, sitting room and as well as walking down the hall each morning you get to see the ocean the whole way. (unlike other units that face "in" and view is only from lanai). The picture showing master bedroom view is incorrect - view is of the golf course not pools/ocean. All other pictures are correct and actual suite. The lagoon(s) are close and pools even closer. Semi-private elevator takes you to the pools/exercise area in a matter of minutes (felt like a private elevator - during our 10 days I think we only rode the elevator with other people a couple times). Kids pool has a beach-style entry and a pebble bottom, great for young children to play and have fun. You can be at the Lagoons in about 5 minutes walking. Check-in is easy - site manager met us at front entry and gave us all the information and provided a list of nearby restaurants and stores. Community of Ko Olina has a very tourist feel but quiet. Guarded entry and mainly hotels/condos. A couple of restaurants and stores for shopping are nearby, about 10-15 minute walk. As well as restaurants and shops in the nearby Disney resort and Marriott resorts. Definitely a beautiful area and condo!"Guest: JPH Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 29, 2014View listing
