Oahu Molokai Lanai Hawaii - Big Island Maui Kauai

Recent Hawaii reviews

  • Great place to stay in Kauai

"A few issues arose our first night here - fridge didn't keep things cold, wi-fi didn't work and one of the bedrooms had a broken ceiling fan - the property managers were pretty quick to help with remedies for those problems. Wi fi was the longest to fix issue - at first, the front desk staff asked me to call the cable company to have the cable staff walk me through fixing the problem. After getting no where with the cable company (and wasting an hour of my vacation time) a trip to the front desk in person helped the staff see that asking the guest to work on the fix wasn't the best solution. Nice place to stay, very close to everything you'd want near Poipu Beach. Comfortable condo - furniture was nice, beds were comfortable. Lots of pool and beach toys, including boogie boards and a beach umbrella. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. Master bathroom needs some repair - the ceiling is peeling above the light fixture. Nice to have a full-size washer and dryer on the main floor, as well as a bathroom. Kitchen is up to date though in desperate need of new cookware. The pans are nearly unusable - rusty and no longer flat on the bottom. The pans looked like they've served well, but they are more than ready to be retired. Dishes and flatware in the cupboards were not clean - dried on food and hair on many items. Easily remedied by removing everything and washing dishes, but who wants to spend time on their vacation washing dishes before using them? My guess? A previous renter put them away dirty, still, with a $200 cleaning fee, the dishes should be clean. Though the kitchen has a pastry blender (for those vacationers who want to make homemade pie crust?) there is no whisk. I would have purchased one and left it behind if we'd had more time. The condo needs a front screen door. With the front door and door to the deck open, there is a lovely cross breeze. With no screen on the front door, we had flying bugs in the condo. The trade off was worth it - the breeze was really nice. Still, an easy fix to just install a screen door - most of the other units in the building have one. Great view from the deck and master bedroom. The building was being painted the week of our trip. It is nice to have things updated, but having painters on the lanai and outside the bedroom windows most of the days of our stay was a bit awkward for the times we were in the condo. Would have been nice to know that at time of booking. Would stay again and recommend to others."

  • Great Quiet, Convenient Spot

"Great place if you are looking to stay somewhere off the beaten path. Very good value, has A/C in the bedroom! You have your own parking spot right outside unit- this can be a big deal in Hawaii. Everything you need for a comfortable short stay. About 5 mins to Kaneohe and 15 or so to Kailua. Owners very friendly, wish I could have stayed longer!"

  • Great Romantic Getaway

"The condo was beautiful and the beach was gorgeous. The time in the condo was relaxing and the sound of the waves was soothing. The view from the lanai was great for seeing the sunrise in the morning and cool in the evening. The property was clean and well kept. I would recommend this place if you want to be away from the big hotels in the cities and create your own plans."

  • Beautiful and Comfortable.

"This property is exceptionally private, quiet and peaceful. It is beautifully decorated and in very good repair. The bed is wonderfully comfortable! Being located in a residential area, you won't see another tourist around. The owner is gracious and shares that true Aloha spirit."

Visitors to Hawaii Condos

Hawaii has a reputation for being a honeymoon destination. Indeed the beautiful sandy beaches, flowing palm trees and warm tropical weather provide the perfect romantic ambience. There are many resorts that offer special honeymoon packages. But even if you are not on honeymoon, Hawaii is a great destination for a romantic getaway. Perhaps it's the friendliness of the locals or the cheerful atmosphere that generally surrounds the islands that makes it a great vacation destination. For those without romantic interests, Hawaii offers visitors excellent beaches and surfing. It is home to many big surfing competitions but even as a novice, you can still enjoy the waves. On the more developed islands of Hawaii, Maui and Kauai, there are vibrant nightlife and loads of entertainment. This is great for people who want to have a fun-filled vacation. Hawaii also has some stunning natural areas. People who enjoy hiking, birdwatching and exploring nature can find many activities to keep them busy on their vacations.

Getting to Hawaii

The major airport in Hawaii is located on the island of Oahu and known as Honolulu International Airport. Most visitors to Hawaii will fly into Honolulu. The airport has frequent commercial flight connections with most major cities in the U.S. and Canada as well as Far East cities such as Tokyo. From Honolulu, you can get domestic flights or ferries across to the other islands. The distances are not far and these flights generally are in smaller commercial aircraft. Getting from Honolulu to the other islands generally takes between 20 and 45 minutes by air. For travelers from the United States, there are also direct commercial flights to the islands of Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii's Big Island. Once on the islands, it is quite easy to get around. Buses and taxis provide public transportation in the major resort areas. Car rental is also available and a great option if you want to explore the islands independently.
