  • Great Vacation Rental

"This house worked out perfect for our needs. We had two families with small children (4 between us) and this was the perfect spot. The house has everything you need, including equipment for the lake and beach towels. It really is within walking distance of Down town CDA and Memorial Park and beach. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc. Beware however, this house doesn't have a dishwasher, you will do all dishes by hand. Or do what we did and use lots of paper plates! The only drawback we found is the bed in the larger upstairs bedroom is a bit soft and sags in the middle, not comfortable for two adults. We ended up moving the kids there. And, it would be fun if there were a fire pit in the back yard for making s'mores, roasting hot dogs etc."

  • Couldn't have been better!

"This place has it all!!! Lone Elk Lodge has the charm, the view, the space, and the best people to run it. Barb and Steve are they caretakers of the lodge and they are wonderful. They made our stay so comfortable and completely carefree! This house has top of the line...well, everything. Everything from the grand theatre room to the HUGE kitchen for gathering and entertaining was absolutely perfect for our party of 17. Barb and Steve were the perfect hosts as they were accommodating but not so much where they interfered with our privacy. There was an occasion where we ran out of propane for the grill and Steve was there quick, fast, and in a hurry with a replacement and a smile. I was getting married that weekend and my limited budget shot down my plans for a traditional venue reception. I asked Barb if the property was appropriate for a backyard reception and she made it work!!! It was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was user friendly for the caterer, the yard was perfect for our tables and dancing, and the sunset behind the golf course setting allowed for the most amazing pictures. My boyfriend and I visited Jackson Hole (from PA) last October and got engaged in the Tetons. We knew we wanted to be married in the area and have a small wedding with immediate family and close friends. We set our date for June 21st and were blessed to have made our "wedding" a week long celebration. My family stayed in Lone Elk Lodge and my husbands guests also stayed in Victor, Idaho. Our dream wedding of being married in the Tetons would not have been possible if we hadn't stayed in the valley. You get the most for your money, the best people, awesome restaurants, and being out of the immediate tourist town allows for more quality family time. With that being said, anything and everything worth seeing/doing is only a short drive. You WILL NOT be disappointed if you stay at The Lone Elk Lodge! Happy Traveling :)"

  • Comfortable Small Town Feeling With Wonderful Scenery

"As an older couple (celebrated out 52nd anniversary this year), we like to vacation in the autum, when the leaves are changing color and the smell of Fall is in the air. The hot days of Summer are finished, and the cold days of Winter still seem a world away. We especially enjoy vacationing in small towns where the frantic pace of our usual city life is out of sight and mind, where we can unwind and enjoy a slower pace. We look for places to stay that are simple and pleasant and, if we can, places that have been lived in and enjoyed by real people. We like being able to cook for ourselves, seldom eating in restaurants. We like places where our dogs (two Standard Poodles) feel comfortable, and have a safe, fenced area to play. Staying in motels is out! At the same time, we’ve found that the key to a relaxing vacation like this is where we choose to stay. Mornings in the kitchen were great. The sunlight poured in, making it warm and cozy. Out the kitchen and back door windows, we could watch as the sun came up, slowly revealing the hills and trees as the ground fog burned away and the sky turned a brilliant, clear blue. Your cottage was very comfortable, with an old-time feel, an easy-to-use kitchen and up-to-date technology. Would recommend to anyone wanting a respite from city life and many opportunities for outdoor activities."
