  • Outstanding Rental (dear VRBO: please use THIS VERSION)

"Our family of 10 (age range: 13-73) greatly enjoyed our 6-night stay in this home. Photos cannot adequately convey the airy, open feel of this place, and the light! So many windows yet private orientation, especially the living room, wrap around deck, and upstairs bedroom. The expansive views of the valley and mountain ridges views and night sky seduced us all. Plenty of seating and deck furniture. At night, a deeply peaceful quiet descends after the last lovely light leaves those mountains--just the crickets singing. This large home has lots of glass so is luminously beautiful inside, with just enough “rustic” but the luxury and modernity of an upscale hotel. Well-done interior lighting and ceiling fans. Every corner was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. Nicely, comfortably furnished, fully equipped, and well-organized. The kitchen and dining areas are set up to accommodate 10+ and we enjoyed many memorable meals, games, movies, and conversations, in all combinations of participation. You can easily congregate or separate into smaller groups in this home of intelligent design. All the bedrooms were lovely retreats, and 2 of 4 have en suite full baths. The bedding was deliciously comfortable with quality linens and ample blankets. The bathrooms (again, spotless) have every need covered, good water pressure and heat, and the towels were thick and soft. If you really like to do laundry on vacation, there’s a lovely w/d set, and even laundry detergent provided. A/C units all worked quietly and efficiently. Loads of parking. The road from Hwy 21 is “dirt” but well-maintained and graded. You are a quick 30 minutes from I84. We had business in Boise 2 of the 5 days, no problem at all. Meanwhile, pick your season: you can hike, fish, hunt, play in the snow, and so on right out the back door of this home. We left very reluctantly. Thank you, many times over, to the owners and the property managers. This was such an important time for us, and this home was nothing short of sheer blessing and delight. We’ll never forget it. The sun rising and setting, the full "super moon," the cool air, the peacefulness."

  • Excellent Experience!

"This was the best VRBO we have ever rented. Melanie was informative, easy to communicate with, and she had everything you needed in this beautiful home. It was so easy to feel relaxed and very easy to entertain! Our Christmas vacation was perfect, complete with a decorated home. She was thoughtful to offer decorating for us. If we need a place again, we'll be sure to rent here, as we have absolutely NO regrets!"

  • We loved this home

"Our son graduated from Boise State this weekend. We wanted a place for our out-of-town guests to stay. This home ended up being the hub of the family activities on graduation day/evening. We hosted a graduation dinner, and had a larger than expected group of people. The house was perfect, it had a spacious open kitchen area, and other areas where people could sit on couches and visit. The next evening was spent quietly relaxing and watching football. (Plenty of televisions in bedrooms for whatever you wanted to watch!) We brought serving dishes, cookware, etc, but mostly used what was in the pantry and cupboards. The beds were comfortable, the towels plentiful. I wish we could have taken advantage of the back deck and the fire pit, but the weather did not cooperate! I would definitely stay there again."

  • A lovely place to stay in Boise

"I lived in Boise for eight years and always wanted an excuse to stay here. Since I've moved away, I now have that excuse. I booked the Story Suite for a weekend in December and was a little disappointed when the host asked the week before my visit whether I'd stay in the Animal Trophy Suite instead since another party wanted to book the Story Suite for a longer stay. However, I enjoyed the Animal Trophy Suite's whimsy and comfortable quarters -- a great retreat for one or two people. The bed was comfy, the kitchenette well furnished, and the location (close to downtown Boise and the North End) is hard to beat. I'm tidy and appreciate that this is one property that does NOT charge an extra cleaning fee, at least for a short stay. I also would have preferred better light-blocking shades ... even in winter, this was not an especially dark room for sleeping. But all quibbles aside, I enjoyed the Boise Guest House and I will be back."
