  • THE BEST LOG CABIN EXPERIENCE

"My review is titled with capital letters because it was THAT good. Colter Cabin is a gift. It's a perfect getaway being in such a serene and peaceful environment. Everything is beautifully decorated (Ginger is AMAZING), the accessories were exceptional. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped with everything you need to create your unique vacation experience. We had several storms while we were there (being from Northern California, these were particularly exciting), and having a crackling fire while enjoying them was perfect. We visited the Grand Targhee, went hiking, visited local shops... everything was lovely. We fell in love with the surroundings, the people and the cabin. It's a place I'm sure we'll visit again!"

  • The title is accurate but does not tell the whole story. This is more tha a recreational paradise.

"The hardest part of this retreat is believing it is the one on the hill with the most beautiful view of all. When we stopped at a neighbor's place to make sure we were in the right place, he said< "no, it's that one up there," pointing to a beautiful home at the top of the opposite hill. The pictures in the listing cannot do the actual location justice. When we walked into the upstairs studio, we found a cute, well-designed and appointed unit with all the amenities you could want for a comfortable stay. It was clean, well-maintained and the owners invited us for wine and to show us how to best get to Mt. Rushmore (our ultimate destination). We found great hiking and fishing nearby, without the crowds we found in Jackson. The owners were not there when we first arrived, but they had told us to help ourselves to the hot tub next door. Wow!! What a spa...and what views from the warmth of the water. We would recommend this retreat to any of our friends or relatives and plan to stop here every time we are traveling east through the Tetons. It is a much better stay than anything we could have found in the Jackson area. When we left Chuck's place, we took he and his wife's advice and took the route through Yellowstone and to Cody instead of through the southern part of Wyoming. The trip was fantastic and the views incredible. We would never had known to go that route without Chuck's help. These two are fantastic hosts and know what it takes to make travelers feel at home. Don't miss the opportunity to stay at their studio if you are traveling through the Teton/Yellowstone area. You won't regret meeting them and enjoying their hospitality."

  • Relaxing hide-a-way

"Our party of 3 (2 women and a 7-year-old girl) stayed here for two nights after a camping trip. After the rigors of camping (in the rain, no less), this was the perfect place to relax and dry out. Compared to staying in a hotel, we really appreciated being able to do a couple loads of laundry and having outdoor space to spread our tent out to dry. My daughter loved the grounds, with two swings and an old grain elevator. We felt perfectly safe letting her go out and play/explore on her own in this spacious yet secluded and contained yard while we did things like cook and pack, which kept eveyone happy. The kitchen was well-enough equipped, but be warned that the bathroom has neither shampoo nor hair dryer. The Japanese restaurant Diana reccommended was fantastic, and took us off "tourist row." In all, we were so relaxed and happy here we found ourselves wishing we could change other plans to stay another night."

  • Nice Cabin for a Great Price!

"We stayed in this cabin with 6 adults and 3 kids. The house was nice for being such a great price. We loved seeing a buck deer and a fox walk by the huge windows looking outside! The kids went on a frog hunt and heard one but couldn't find it. It was close to town and close to the lake (within walking distance). We also loved that it wasn't a busy neighborhood and we were able to go on walks around the neighborhood with the kids. I honestly don't think you can beat this cabin for the price!"
