Recent Coeur d'Alene Lake reviews

  • Nice place to enjoy the lake

"I am normally leery of renting a place with so few photos and reviews, but this was a very nice condo in a great location. We were close enough to Coeur D'Alene (25 minutes) to enjoy the downtown, parks and shopping, but loved being in a more remote location. Lake access was easy for swimming and there was a marina right there to rent boat slips if you wanted to bring a boat or jet ski. (Note-no food in the area) The property management company is pretty worthless so if you have questions or need info, contact the owner. He was very helpful and responsive. We were traveling with our 6 year old and he had a great time. There were a number of families and kids around, but not too many :) I can't recommend the pool as it was very heavily chlorinated, but that was the only downside and with the lake right there, we wouldn't have used it anyway. We would come back again."

  • Great Getaway

"Our family had a great time at Lake Coeur D'Alene last week. There were several nice features associated with the cabin. One of the most striking things was the view from the top story. Absolutely gorgeous. We also really loved the fully stocked kitchen - spices, condiments, all the stuff you normally find at home - not just the bare minimum that you usually find in a vacation rental. Another nice thing about the home was the fact that the staircase from main floor to second floor was enclosed with a door. This meant that kids could go to bed downstairs and you didn't have to worry about sound carrying from upstairs down to their rooms if the adults wanted to stay up later. We really enjoyed having our boat moored at the dock and were able to park our boat trailer plus our van in the parking spot (bit tight, but manageable). The bay was nice and calm for waterskiing and we were able to boat into downtown faster than we could drive. Would go again."

  • Comfortable and Convenient Cottage; Excellent Value

"This home has virtually everything you need for a fun Cd'A vacation. It's spotlessly clean, well appointed, and convenient to Sherman Ave., the lake, and great hiking. My wife and I rented this house in early July. We wanted to use it as a base camp to take advantage of the great bike and hiking trails in the general area. If you like biking, this is the place to be. The Centennial Trail, which goes all the way to Spokane, is a block away from the house. Two other trails, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Route of the Hiawatha are not far by car. We also went to Moscow, Idaho (a fun, laid-back college town around 85 miles away), and took another rail trail into Pullman, Washington. The hiking is also great. Tubbs Hill is right behind the house--we walked to the top at dawn every morning. Other, more challenging trails, such as the Caribou Trail, are not far by car. The house is separated from the lake by a beautiful and well maintained city park. Nearby are the shops on Sherman Ave. (we went to the Parkside Bakery for it's fresh bread virtually every day); there is a farmers market on Wednesday afternoons. The owner provided a number of conveniences--hotel type soap and shampoo in the bathroom, a hair drier, laundry and dish detergent. There is also a BBQ grill in the back yard and a very comfortable patio and garden. Great for breakfasts and dinners outdoors. My wife and I have rented houses around the world and this was one of the best in terms of comfort, convenience and value. BTW, one fun thing that's off the beaten track--prospecting for garnets. It's a bit of a drive but well worth it for the scenic ride and pure fun. Wallace, Idaho, is also fun for a side trip."

  • Family reunion

"This property provides a wonderful outside experience. The upper deck off the kitchen is fabulous for group cooking, eating and enjoying the beautiful views. The beach front is terrific for lake access for children and adults. Grassy area for games is also good. The inside of the home is filled with owners mementos and it was difficult to find open spots for our things. Some general upkeep is also necessary: towel and TP holders falling off the walls, ice maker and small deck refrigerator broken, seat covers on outdoor bars stools in need of repair."
