Recent Coeur d'Alene Lake reviews

  • Great summer rental

"We have stayed in different vacation homes on CdA Lake and other lakes, so some of my comments come directly from other experiences. Parking was on the same level as the main living space, so packing and unpacking wasn't too bad. And there was plenty of room to turn around so you can get on the main road without backing onto it. The house was nice and roomy and clean with space to separate if you want. There was plenty of seating in the house and outside on the deck. The master was lovely. The owner provided LOTS of towels, full size new soap bars and shampoo and conditioner and plenty of toilet paper. The water cooler provided great drinking water. Air conditioning was nice as the weather was hot when we stayed. The washer and dryer worked and worked well and the owner provided laundry supplies. There was enough hot water for 4 showers back to back. There were 79 steps to the lake. The lake access and firepit were great. The dock had a ladder for swimmers to climb out of the water. The beach area was nice and treeline borders provided a private feel. The swimming was great and there was plenty of room to play without being out with the boats. There were no instructions left by the owner which made us feel like we were free to use the house, but he actively tried contacting us. We didn't have our phones on us at all times and didn't even check them all the time -- we were on vacation. I do wonder if leaving some instructions would have worked better. Upon hearing from the owner after we were already out I wondered if we hadn't done everything expected of us upon departure. We didn't have to haul garbage out to a community dumpster! I don't know why there are no reviews for this house. We had a lovely, relaxing stay."

  • We can't wait to return!

"Our family just returned home after a week at the Driftwood Lodge on Lake CDA. It was absolutely perfect. As others have mentioned, the pictures do not do the home and property justice - and the pictures are fabulous! The home is truly big, beautiful, cozy and warm all at the same time. The kitchen has every thing you could need to prepare fancy meals and it's just as easy to throw some burgers on the grill. It's all at your fingertips. The bedrooms are gorgeous, well kept, with amazing views and roomy. We had fun playing games, reading books from the library, dancing to the music on satellite during the cooler days and jumping in the lake on the hot afternoons. Silverwood is an easy drive and boating around the lake is a must. Start your day with a cup of coffee on the dock, end on the upper deck watching shooting stars or lightening storms while enjoying a glass of wine. As we like to say, if you forget what day it is - it's been a very good vacation. We forgot what day it was the moment we arrived at the Driftwood Lodge. Thank you Tammye and Don for making it so memorable. We will be back."

  • Perfect Getaway...

"One week was not long enough for us. This little piece of heaven that belongs to John and Jennifer was amazing. This charming cabin had everything we needed. It's the perfect location to be away from busy lake traffic and to watch the sunsets. Now the drive to this rustic gem is interesting.. lots of turns and cliffs... but worth it. Just be careful and avoid driving at night. John and Jennifer welcomed us to their home away from home with smiles and freshly baked cookies that we devoured. We were able to launch our boat in Harrison 7 miles down the road with no problems. The dock which is only steps away from the cabin was awesome to jump off of and swim. We caught a lot of small mouth bass right off the dock. We had a wonderful time and look forward to going back."
