Recent Coeur d'Alene Lake property reviews

  • Comfortable and Convenient Cottage; Excellent Value

"This home has virtually everything you need for a fun Cd'A vacation. It's spotlessly clean, well appointed, and convenient to Sherman Ave., the lake, and great hiking. My wife and I rented this house in early July. We wanted to use it as a base camp to take advantage of the great bike and hiking trails in the general area. If you like biking, this is the place to be. The Centennial Trail, which goes all the way to Spokane, is a block away from the house. Two other trails, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Route of the Hiawatha are not far by car. We also went to Moscow, Idaho (a fun, laid-back college town around 85 miles away), and took another rail trail into Pullman, Washington. The hiking is also great. Tubbs Hill is right behind the house--we walked to the top at dawn every morning. Other, more challenging trails, such as the Caribou Trail, are not far by car. The house is separated from the lake by a beautiful and well maintained city park. Nearby are the shops on Sherman Ave. (we went to the Parkside Bakery for it's fresh bread virtually every day); there is a farmers market on Wednesday afternoons. The owner provided a number of conveniences--hotel type soap and shampoo in the bathroom, a hair drier, laundry and dish detergent. There is also a BBQ grill in the back yard and a very comfortable patio and garden. Great for breakfasts and dinners outdoors. My wife and I have rented houses around the world and this was one of the best in terms of comfort, convenience and value. BTW, one fun thing that's off the beaten track--prospecting for garnets. It's a bit of a drive but well worth it for the scenic ride and pure fun. Wallace, Idaho, is also fun for a side trip."

  • Beautiful YARD

"Very Clean home with a beautiful yard. Kids swam off the dock all day long. Had a great horseshoe tourney in the back yard. Kids loved the movie channel and hot tub. Great location for boating, hiking and biking. Ladies loved the close location to shopping too."

  • Wonderful Vacation

"We had a wonderful stay at this Neachen Bay (previously Squaw Bay) home. The home is located in the perfect spot on CDA for boating and jet skiing. We had a boat delivered and docked at the home for our vacation and had a wonderful time. Huttons General Store is minutes away by car or boat and has everything you need. Gas (car and boat), lunch, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, speciality sauces and jams, drinks, grocery etc. You must visit. The home was decorated very nice with plush linens and was fullly equipped with everything we needed. The king bedroom in the top floor is an open loft with a walk in closet and large bathroom (shower and tub). The 2 seperate queen bedrooms on the main floor were small but very nice. Only one room had a closet and drawers, the other only had drawers no closet. A shared bathroom (shower and tub) was on this floor. All 3 of these rooms has TVs. The lower level had a great family room with large TV, bar, dining table, bathroom (shower and tub) and seperate room with 2 queen beds. There was a door in that bedroom to a large laundry room which has an additional refidgerator. The video games and pinball machine in this family room did not work (but noone wanted to play with them anyway. Too many other options). The kitchen on the main floor had plenty of room. Great fridge, small microwave, blender, coffee maker, pots pans and everything you need. The oven worked, but the display did not. It cooked a bit slow, but got the job done just fine. The dining room chairs are wobbly and begining to fall apart... one was broken. But they were fine for our use. The TVs had every channel you wanted. No WIFI for computers but Verizon 4G cell phone worked fine (we tethered the laptop when needed to the cell phone for access). Beautiful deck and beautiful view. Hot tub was wonderful after a day of play. The deck paint peeled easily with minor movement of charis and was a bit of a mess. I assume that is normal with the severe weather changes and probably a standard maintenance item. There is also a very large lower deck which was perfect for relaxation out of the sun. From this deck there is access to a cool room with a pool table (making 4 levels of space in this home). There is a private sandy beach to play on and a fantastic dock. We floated on rafts, rented a boat and several jet skis and were able to store them perfectly. The water was perfectly warm and refreshing. WE WILL COME AGAIN!"
