"We have rented a VRBO house on various lakes for the last 10 years. We have spent a week at this house for the last four summers. Of all the places we have rented this has been the nicest house and the best property owner we have rented from. Bill is very easy to work with and is very prompt in responding to any questions we have had. The first year we rented the house the wash machine broke and he was quick to get a replacement one delivered while we were still there.
All the beds are really comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The location of the house is on a quiet little cove and feels very secluded from all the neighbors. The upper deck has gates so small children are safe to roam. This house is only about 15 minutes from the town of Hayden Lake if you need to go to the store. There are numerous golf courses in the area that some members of my family enjoyed checking out."

"I would like to fill this space with negative comments about this house to make sure it will be available for us next year...but I can't. There was only one negative, and that's really based on your perspective. Cell reception was basically limited to on area where you might occasionally be able to make a phone call or get a text (Verizon). But that was it, and like I said...might be a good thing, might be a bad thing. Now for the positive stuff. Huge house with plenty of room on a very quiet street. Tastefully decorated, extremely clean, everything you would need for your stay. Far enough away from town to get out of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to make running into town east. The deck and dock were the places to hang out, fishing was off-the-hook spectacular. Our son caught (and released) 115 fish in one day, a combination of bluegill, crappie, small and large mouth bass. Owners were great with setting up the rental and overall, couldn't have asked for a better experience."

"The house is beautifully situated at one of the easternmost reaches of Hayden Lake, isolated from most of the boat noise of the rest of the lake. Between the deck, the private beach, and the kayaks, you'll have next to no reason to stay inside. We stayed for a few days midsummer—four adults and three frisky children—but I imagine it would be utterly beautiful early to mid autumn, as well."

"The Gerends are super nice people with 2 great cabins next to each other on the east side of Hayden Lake. Next year we'll rent them both and bring both sides of the family! It wasn't clear from the writeup that the cabins share an U-shaped dock but it's very large so worked out fine with our neighbors. The dock highlights are all the water toys and a massive rock that kids can climb up and jump into the water. The cabin itself is well-appointed and cozy, the king-sized beds were very comfortable, and the wraparound deck is phenomenal -- plenty of seating, great views of the lake and sunsets, and thankfully not a single mosquito! We had never spent time on Hayden before so this is not a knock on the cabin, but it is very busy and popular lake. Tons of young people on big power boats cranking music, and there is a big church camp across the way with lots of celebrating throughout the day and into the evening. If you are looking for a quiet lake experience, fall is probably a better time to stay at this cabin. But if you have kids or don't mind a lot of activity on the water, this is the place!
Note to people who fish: we scouted out the lake pretty well, turns out the best fishing is right smack in the middle of the lake straight out from the dock. Despite the heat wave, we caught huge crappies, a few nice trout, and even a big northern pike (all on Rapalas). The kids caught lots of nice-sized bluegills right off the dock using a single salmon egg on the end of a hook.
Thank you Pat & Bob for a wonderful stay!"
