  • Rustic, Charming, and Fabulous

"We stayed at Almost Heaven with our 2-year-old and our active dog for three nights. The location is exactly as described: rustic, wooded, close to town and to Redfish--all that you expect on a trip to Stanley. The house is very well appointed and has nearly everything a family needs to cook, play, and relax, including a well-stocked library. Bring what you plan to cook and any special condiments and spices; otherwise, everything is at your fingertips. Jima was very kind and communicative/responsive, and answered all of our questions quickly. I would recommend if traveling with small children that you bring something you block access to the loft. There is no Bannister on the open staircase, and the guardrail at the top has very wide gaps between the slats. We took note of this when researching photos and loved the place so much that we planned accordingly, bringing an indoor/outdoor octagon playpen that we wrapped around the base of the stairs. Our son didn't even attempt to see what was on the other side, and the adults navigated it easily. We look forward to visiting again when the winter is upon us so that we can try the wood burning stove, which we didn't have need for this time around. Very cozy! Thank you, Jima."

  • Exlporing Yamkke Fork

"My kids and I had an excellent stay at Yankee Fork Retreat! A great jump off spot for all the activities in the area. We especially enjoyed visiting the more popular areas in Stanley and Red Fish Lake then returning to the peace and quiet of Yankee Fork away from the crowds. Mountain biking the canyon road was perfect for the kids. The cabin held no surprises and was very clean and comfortable. The rivers were spectacular. We even caught the Annual Custer Days celebration up the road. Recommended."

  • Darryl, Becky & Honey

"We stayed for a month at one of the cabins at Stanley Base Camp in the summer of 2014. It's well-named, for it is centrally located for exploring the area in all directions. It's close to the town of Stanley, Stanley Lake and forest service roads #432 & 633, which offer awesome views. Nearby Valley Creek has some good fly fishing spots. The cabin was super clean and very well-equipped with everything you could need, plus some. It was great to meet Todd, who gave us some advice on things/areas not to miss during our stay. Honey loved sniffing the prairie dog holes. The Sawtooth Mts. are absolutely gorgeous!"

  • Great place

"Arrived for a flyin at the Smiley Creek airport after two very long days of travel. Thanks to the pink chairs we found the cabin and were very pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. We had a great time and found the cabin very comfortable and a very enjoyable place to stay for my first visit to the Idaho backcountry. Walking distance to the airport and the lodge for meals if you don't want to cook. Cabin was clean and well appointed. Two thumbs up!"
