Very comfortable lodgings in one of the greatest vacation areas in idaho
"We took advantage of the seasonable late fall to roam the adjacent hills in search of the striking fall colors. We may have been the last vehicles to travel the length of Bear Valley and the Yankee Fork road, we saw no traffic on either and both were lined with brilliant golds and oranges of the turning birch and poplar leaves. The cabin was very well appointed with all the necessary things to make for a pleasant stay. The owner was very gracious in my (limited) contacts with him. Though adjacent to the highway, the traffic noise is not intrusive nor does it seem to affect the local wildlife. While watching the lunar eclipse we saw a fox visit the next cabin when it triggered the motion sensor light the owner had thoughtfully installed to illuminate the front step (if there is no moon out you may have a hard time FINDING the front step without them). The Milky Way shines brightly through the trees, a sight seldom seen by those of us from more urban areas. One key point that differentiates this cabin from most others on VRBO, the owner does his own maintenance and servicing, there is no cleaning fee in addition to the rental costs. This results in a savings of 15-25% over adjacent cabins with absentee owners. This cabin is an excellent value and a comfortable stay that we look forward to using again, soon."

"Romantic vacation getaway. The location is close enough to town so you can grab a bite to eat but far enough away to enjoy the great location. Kelly was a thoughtful hostess and was easy to work with. We had a relaxing stay for 2 nights. Thank you! We hope to be back next year!"

"we rented the cabin for the entire months of january and february of 2014. the cabin was IMMACULATE! in a perfect private setting. Liese and John Dean are real nice folks it was a pleasure renting from them. the purpose of our trip was for snowmobiling and all i can say about that is it was AWESOME!!! and with smiley creek lodge just a stones throw away it was easy to get gas for our machines and head out into the backcountry...and then come back and have a great meal at the lodge. we will definitely be back...our dogs were also welcomed and had a great time as well."

"Staying at Almost Heaven really made our visit to the Sawtooths more enjoyable. After a long day of taking advantage of the delights of the region it was great to come "home" to this pleasant quiet spot nestled in the woods with views of the mountains from the deck. The cabin is neat and tasteful. Great location! Jima is charming and wonderfully helpful. There were 5 of us which worked well but I would not do any more. It's about a 15 minute drive to town which is convenient and a short drive to plenty of trails, fishing and hot springs. Overall I can't imagine a better way to spend time in the Stanley area."
