"We rented this home for a family reunion. The pictures don't do justice for this beautiful log home. It has an open floor plan and the floor to ceiling windows open to the most gorgeous views. Large kitchen with island that opens to the living area. Large dining table, large bedrooms upstairs that have bathrooms attached. Large open room downstairs that has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Huge wrap around deck. The location is ideal and close to all activities Sawtooth area has to offer. A short walk to Smiley Creek Lodge that has delicious food and great home made milk shakes. Red Fish Lake is a must with all kinds of activities for families. We were thrilled with the quality of the home and the owner is great to work with. This part of Idaho is jaw dropping beautiful and so many outdoor activities. You won't make a mistake with renting this home."

"Romantic vacation getaway. The location is close enough to town so you can grab a bite to eat but far enough away to enjoy the great location. Kelly was a thoughtful hostess and was easy to work with. We had a relaxing stay for 2 nights. Thank you! We hope to be back next year!"

Very comfortable lodgings in one of the greatest vacation areas in idaho
"We took advantage of the seasonable late fall to roam the adjacent hills in search of the striking fall colors. We may have been the last vehicles to travel the length of Bear Valley and the Yankee Fork road, we saw no traffic on either and both were lined with brilliant golds and oranges of the turning birch and poplar leaves. The cabin was very well appointed with all the necessary things to make for a pleasant stay. The owner was very gracious in my (limited) contacts with him. Though adjacent to the highway, the traffic noise is not intrusive nor does it seem to affect the local wildlife. While watching the lunar eclipse we saw a fox visit the next cabin when it triggered the motion sensor light the owner had thoughtfully installed to illuminate the front step (if there is no moon out you may have a hard time FINDING the front step without them). The Milky Way shines brightly through the trees, a sight seldom seen by those of us from more urban areas. One key point that differentiates this cabin from most others on VRBO, the owner does his own maintenance and servicing, there is no cleaning fee in addition to the rental costs. This results in a savings of 15-25% over adjacent cabins with absentee owners. This cabin is an excellent value and a comfortable stay that we look forward to using again, soon."

"We stayed at Almost Heaven with our 2-year-old and our active dog for three nights. The location is exactly as described: rustic, wooded, close to town and to Redfish--all that you expect on a trip to Stanley. The house is very well appointed and has nearly everything a family needs to cook, play, and relax, including a well-stocked library. Bring what you plan to cook and any special condiments and spices; otherwise, everything is at your fingertips. Jima was very kind and communicative/responsive, and answered all of our questions quickly.
I would recommend if traveling with small children that you bring something you block access to the loft. There is no Bannister on the open staircase, and the guardrail at the top has very wide gaps between the slats. We took note of this when researching photos and loved the place so much that we planned accordingly, bringing an indoor/outdoor octagon playpen that we wrapped around the base of the stairs. Our son didn't even attempt to see what was on the other side, and the adults navigated it easily.
We look forward to visiting again when the winter is upon us so that we can try the wood burning stove, which we didn't have need for this time around. Very cozy! Thank you, Jima."
