  • awsome location

"My husband, daughter and I loved it enormously. Amazing location: walked into town for dinner every night. proximity to everything big plus. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. The patio was perfect with its own private hot tub with the river running by less than a hundred feet away. we slept with windows open to hear it: great to fall asleep too. The tv was a little tricky to figure out."

  • Happy Customer

"This unit is amazing, it is so immaculate and is exactly how it is pictured/ described. The kitchen has everything that you need. The location of the unit is so convenient, its at the most a 5 minutes away from all the restaurants/ downtown area. We really enjoyed your condo and it was well beyond what we hoped for. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat."

  • Wonderful cottage for a family vacation

"We had the most wonderful vacation with our two little daughters and dog. This cottage was just the perfect amount of space for all of us, conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, super cozy and has all amenities you could ask for. Jane was so wonderful in sending us all kinds of information up front as well as having the sweetest welcome basket set up for the entire family (including our dog Louie). She is hands down the most attentive and caring home owner and was available on email and phone through out our stay. We loved our New Year's trip to Sun Valley and are planing to come back! THANK YOU JANE!!!"

  • Beautiful home.Excellent access to Sawtooth

"My wife and I rented the apartment above the garage. It was very comfortable, very clean and had gorgeous views in all directions. The house is in a small quiet subdivision with other very nice upscale homes. It's a 15 minute drive into Ketchum and Sun Valley areas, and within easy one to one and a half hrs drives to sawtooth forest, Redfish Lake,Stanley Lake, Craters of the Moon, and numerous hiking trails(some a short walk from the house). The Owner,Tom, is very helpful and made sure we were comfortable. Our week there in late September was memorable and very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this property for a stay in the Ketchum area."

Sun Valley Area Travel Tips

Sun Valley, Idaho for Fun in the Sun and Snow

Sun Valley, in Blaine County, Idaho, is known as the "Grand Dame" of ski resorts. The name Sun Valley is used to describe the resort itself and the region generally--the valley area south of Hailey and the city of Ketchum. To get to Sun Valley travel could not be easier. Just 2.5 hours drive through scenic vistas from the major airport at Boise, the area is also served by Friedman Memorial Airport which is less than 15 miles away. By road, the Sun Valley is easily accessible from Interstate 85 and State Highway 75 running through the region. Famous for its great ski conditions, the weather goes from the 20s Fahrenheit in winter to the high 60s Fahrenheit in summer.

Find the Perfect Snow in Sun Valley, Idaho

With over 250 days of sun per year, you may believe that it is not an ideal ski location but you would be wrong. The days may be glorious and sunny but the nights bring the snow and each morning, the snow conditions are fabulous. More advanced skiers head to Bald Mountain, affectionately known as "Baldy," for its challenging conditions. It has a variety of constant-pitch terrain of assorted difficulty levels, a 3,400-foot (1,036 m) vertical drop and little wind. Among serious skiers, Baldy is reputed to be the best mountain in the world. Beginners and intermediate skiers will find the treeless Dollar Mountain perfect for developing their skills and learning. With Sun Valley vacation rentals available close to both mountains, visitors will find the perfect property for their individual needs.

For winter visitors who enjoy fishing, there is an opportunity to try the challenges of ice fishing at several rivers and lakes.

Don’t Miss the Spectacular Sun in Sun Valley’s Summer

When the snow melts and the temperatures climb, Sun Valley is rapidly gaining popularity as an ideal outdoor location for family fun. The Sawtooth National Forest has a variety of recreational activities to suit everyone. Much of the forest is primitive and undeveloped wilderness, great for exploring and getting back to nature. It is also an archeological area with almost 1,500 heritage sites to discover. It offers a great opportunity to learn about the area and its archeology, and understand the importance of the natural environment. The area has a wealth of hiking and backpacking trails, horseback riding, mountain biking, trail biking, and both lake and river fishing.

There is no better way to get a feel for how the original settlers and inhabitants explored the area than on horseback. The area has some spectacular riding trails, one of the best of which is Cold Canyon. It is a scenic ride, best seen in late summer and early fall when the fall colors are in their prime. Many of these trails are closed to motorized vehicles, making for safe, scenic, peaceful rides.

The fishing season starts in May, usually on Memorial Day, and licenses can be obtained at local stores. The main fishing areas include Big Wood River, the North and Mile Fork of the Boise River, and part of the Payette River. Species in abundance in the rivers include several varieties of trout, such as rainbow, golden, brook and cutthroat. The best early season fishing is at the Salmon River Drainage.
