  • "The Big Wood River Chateau made for wonderful vacation accommodations! With the surrounding trees, the Big Wood River flowing through the back yard, and the facing mountain side . . . this place certainly created the feeling of having our “own private Idaho”. If one is forced to keep in touch with the office while on vacation, then rest assured that accessibility to the Internet from the large deck and the riverside gazebo provide a most desirable work environment. The location is perfect, being centrally located between Silver Creek and Ketchum (for those aficionados of fly fishing and The Pioneer) and a quick walk to the grocery store, the bike trail and hiking on Carbonate. The indoor living at the Chateau is just as wonderful as the outdoor living. The place was very clean, the appliances new and top-end, the towels and bedding plush, the remodeling upgrades very tasteful and impeccably done. The heated floors in the bathrooms were absolutely delightful!! Sleeping and showering here are fabulous experiences! Bill (the owner) was very accommodating to our needs and requests and was a fountain of knowledge concerning the area, its history and the opportunities it affords to vacationers. We will certainly be looking to return to the Chateau in the future! - CLKB - July 2009"

"This is a wonderful home, beautifully furnished and decorated within walking distance of downtown Hailey and about 20 minutes to skiing on Baldy or Dollar Mountain. The home was warm, the kitchen a cooks dream, and a garage for storing your car at night. This home is 5 minutes from the Sun Valley Airport. I would recommend this home to anyone travelling with multiple adults or families and will plan to say here again. House is equipped for babies and toddlers."

"This is a beautiful, unique home with a fabulous view of the surrounding mountains. The living space is spacious and great for having friends in to dinner. We loved curling up by the fire and soaking in the atmosphere. Everything is clean, comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked."

Hailey Travel Tips

Hailey Vacation Rentals in the Heart of Sun Valley

Hailey, located in the scenic Sun Valley region, is minutes away from some of the best skiing on earth. This beautiful resort area has been a hideaway for celebrities since Ernest Hemmingway, and some celebrities have loved the area enough that they decided to settle there permanently. This is not surprising to those who know all that Sun Valley has to offer. The famous Bald Mountain is only one of the many great mountains for skiing, and the lively arts community of Blaine County is rich with film festivals, live music, theater productions, art exhibits, and more. The art of the Hailey area has even been compared to that of LA, Manhattan, Berlin, and London.

Your Sun Valley area lodging will put you minutes away from the slopes when the snow is good, but the area is not devoid of things to do when your mood or the weather just aren't up for winter sports. Beyond being a cultural hub, Hailey is surrounded by Sawtooth National Forest. The area is perfect for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, mountain biking, fishing, and much more.

Hailey Travel to a Private Resort

No matter how pricey or well advertised, resorts and hotels in the Hailey region can never hold a candle to Hailey vacation rentals. There are a wide variety of options to suit your budget and taste, ranging from country houses to log cabins and more. These secluded and luxurious homes often outdo the amenities of the ski resorts, offering gourmet kitchens, luxury accommodations, and beautiful decor, not to mention a price that leaves the resort hotels figuratively buried in the powdery snow of Bald Mountain. When looking at Hailey travel, especially for a family getaway or a stay that will extend beyond a few days, these vacation rentals offer a private location and a fantastic price.
