  • Family Vacation

"This beautiful home comfortably accommodated our 5 families of all ages. We were impressed with how well stocked it was with towels, cookware, games, etc. The views were amazing ... we saw elk crossing the river and moose on the hillside. We snowmobiled from the house every day and definitely enjoyed being away from the crowds in Island Park. It was also great snowshoeing along the river! The only complaints I heard from our group were sleeping related ... the linens were very nice, but some of the mattresses weren't comfortable and the walls seemed thin when part of the group stayed up late playing games. But, overall a wonderful place to stay!"

  • Amazing and Beautiful retreat!!

"We had SUCH a great time with our family at this cabin. It made us feel like we were living in absolute luxury for a few days. High end everything, the hot tub was perfecdt, close to town and plenty of room. No wonder it is so hard to get an opening at this cabin! ;-) The owners were great to work with. We would highly recommend it!!"

  • Our Best Vacation Ever

"This was our best family vacation ever. We saw a lot of wildlife very close up including grizzly bears, buffalo, elk, antelope, deer, moose, and many more! We have been to a lot of similar vacation places including a number of mountain locales in Colorado, and nothing came close to the combination of breathtaking scenery, up-close wildlife, and authentic western life as this. Yellowstone was amazing, and it was not very far away. Teton National Park was even better! Around every bend was another postcard view. Jackson, Wyoming was a really neat town to experience. We fished in a trout pond, took a short hike up to picnic on a mountain top, and took the ski lift up to Targhee for some of the best views on the entire trip! All of this was within a short drive from the house in Driggs. Speaking of the house, we could not have found a better place for our family! It was fully furnished with everything we could have needed, even down to the little things like spices in the cupboards. Stargazing from the hot tub at night was a unique experience. We actually live out in the country in Indiana, so we can see the stars really well at home, but we had no idea how much better you can see the stars at the higher elevation where the house is. We could see what looked like clouds of stars, millions of stars that we just can't see at home. We also had Foosball tournaments on the Foosball table in the basement, and I'm sure we'll be laughing about those tournaments for years! The house actually has a fully furnished basement too with a kitchen, more bedrooms, and two bathrooms. It was nice that we could be together with friends and also have our own separate family time when we wanted! We are so grateful for our friends that drove us out there!"

  • A charming, peaceful lake vacation - thanks to this little piece of cabin heaven

"If I could give a 6-star (or more!) rating, I absolutely would. Rustic elegance sums it up perfectly. The location is remote (22 miles off the 90 and located in Harrison, Idaho), so you truly feel like you are getting away- and in a very good way! This was one of my favorite family vacations ever, and I've gone on many. Well-maintained, beautiful home and grounds. Let's start with the panoramic views- from the deck, pebble beach, fireplace 'lounging' area, front lawn - it was breathtaking, especially the sunsets. This really is one of the best places on the lake, especially given Western exposure. By the way, the fireplace area was reminiscent of a high-end lodge hotel environment was a very pleasant surprise, as it wasn't even pictured in the listing! The inside of the cabin was amazing, the kitchen was the most well-stocked I've ever encountered in a rental and it has been recently remodeled. Nice tile, granite countertops, soft carpet. TV for those that need it with satellite. Plenty of space to lounge- liked the two bedrooms upstairs (A-frame style with rooms on either side both with a queen + twin), then two queen rooms downstairs. The owner, John, was amazingly helpful and answered all of my questions (I'll admit, I'm super Type A and do my research and he never lost patience on me at all, ha). We rented a boat for one day which is fun, as there is a slip - but, beware, boat rental is very expensive. There is an adorable canoe on property which we had fun with, great swimming beach. Harrison, ID is 6 miles away and a cute visit, you can rent bikes along the lake which I recommend. We didn't eat out much and instead toted most of our meals over. Mostly relaxed around cabin/outside and it was wonderful. It really is the best cabin ever- no joke! Thanks John, for your amazing hospitality."
