"We had a family Christmas here and loved it. We had family come from the Caldwell area and then from WA. It was everything that we expected. We had a great time in the snow and that is what we wanted for Christmas was a white one. Went into town and did some tubing with the kids it is great to have the town so close. We really enjoyed the open feeling of the home. Got to see deer everyday that we were there, the kids loved that. Over all it was a great stay we plan on coming back again. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your home. We had a great time!"

"This property provides a wonderful outside experience. The upper deck off the kitchen is fabulous for group cooking, eating and enjoying the beautiful views. The beach front is terrific for lake access for children and adults. Grassy area for games is also good. The inside of the home is filled with owners mementos and it was difficult to find open spots for our things. Some general upkeep is also necessary: towel and TP holders falling off the walls, ice maker and small deck refrigerator broken, seat covers on outdoor bars stools in need of repair."

  • restful Rockford Bay

"This well-kept cabin is great for a quiet week on the water. Room for 2 couples or one family, it has everything you need to relax and recreate on lovely Lake Coeur d'Alene, including a boat dock, kayaks and paddle boat. We spent many hours on the large deck and down on the dock, watching bald eagles, osprey, Canadian geese and hummingbirds. We also saw lots of people fishing. The cabin is located on a steep slope with lots of stairs, so consider that when you pack. Also, although we brought in drinking water at the owner's request, we had no problem with the tap water from their well. We have stayed on the lake for many years and would recommend this cabin to someone looking for comfort without extravagance."

  • All we had hoped and more...

"This property is a real gem, right near the heart of Sandpoint. A very private and rustic setting that gave a real feel of the area and it's history. This property offers privacy from all sides, even lakeside as the main house is tucked up into the trees. For our 2 families (4 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 17-22), we rented the main house and the bunkhouse for the 3 boys, which ended up offering tons of personal space. The kitchen was well appointed and there was adequate bathroom(3) space to accommodate all of us. The beach offers privacy as well and the diving board off the dock was an added bonus. This property has a lot of character and we all really enjoyed our stay."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
