  • Great weekend in McCall

"We were very happy with our stay on Sunset Street. Vacasa made it very easy to book our stay and gave us all the information we needed. The home was cute and comfortable and had all of the amenities that we needed. Great to have a fenced yard for the dogs. We will stay here again!"

  • Christmas Vacation

"We had a wonderful family reunion for a magical Christmas 2014 at Papa Bears Cave and Den. Everyone loved everything about the cabin! Five families with adults, teenagers, younger children, and toddlers were able to come. When we pulled up to the cabin we first noticed the Christmas lights on the roof and once we entered the cabin we loved the Christmas decorations and the tree inside. There were activities for everyone with plenty of space. Ping pong and foosball tournaments were a big hit in the heated garage. Craig recommended were we could rent snowmobiles and the service we recieved was exceptional. Craig was extremely accommodating in every aspect of our stay including suggesting a wonderful Santa to make a surprise visit on Christmas Eve! Needless to say Santa was a wonderful surprise for the younger children. My wife and I have rented various cabins at Island Park 12 out of the last 13 years for the Christmas holiday with just our family. This year we sought a large cabin to accomadate her siblings families along with Grandma and Grandpa. This was the cleanest, most organized, updated, and elegant cabin we have ever stayed in. The price was extremely modest for all the amenities and comforts this cabin has. We searched for other large reunion cabins and found one but the owner was extremely rude. We decided to keep searching and with our initial conversation with Craig and looking over other guest comments we decided to stay at the Papa Bears Cave. We have all decided we would like to stay at the Papa Bears Cave and Den again in the near future. We made wonderful family memories and it was hard to leave. If you are looking for an incredible place to stay with a great person to rent from, look no further, you have just found it!"

  • Great Stay

"We had a terrific stay in this lovely condo during the end of ski season. First, Sun Valley is a fantastic ski resort. While there was not a lot of snow, the resort did an amazing job of keeping the snow it did have in great condition. While we were a little nervous at first skiing in late March, it turned out to be a great time to ski. Uncrowded, warm, sunny, and still great skiing. Second, if you are going to Sun Valley, this is a perfect place to stay. One of the closest condos to the River run lifts and an easy walk into town. The condo itself is well maintained and fully stocked. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Doug, the owner is easy to work with. I highly recommend this condo."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
