  • Best ever

"It was a pleasant surprise to find everything in working order and so well furnished from A to Z. Unfortunately, so often one arrives to a rented vacation home to find it barely resembles the photos and it is in anything but working order. Should we have the opportunity again, I definitely look forward to renting your home for our stays in SV. Thank you!"

  • Great stay!

"We stayed here for 3 nights in August and had a great time. The facilities exceeded expectations (the condo itself as well as the resort grounds). There was plenty of space, very well kept, and having a kitchen is always helpful with a toddler. We didn't do anything on the mountain, but did go biking on the Hiawatha trail and did the mine tour in Wallace. My 2-year old daughter loved the waterpark, and I appreciated that it was indoors, so she stayed warm. We are definitely planning to visit again next year. Highly recommended."

  • We loved it

"The cabin is beautiful, peaceful and has a very remote feel. The drive up from town can seem a little hairy the first time, but the roads are good and the drive is worth it. Signage off of the main road (Crow Bench) is not great (a detailed map would have been helpful) and the houses right at the turn off are a little cluttered/dumpy, but the road you want is the "straight shot" mostly right and you'll end up over a mile from these houses. By the time you get to the cabin (~20 minutes from downtown Orofino), you will feel very remote and have your own private little getaway. We saw deer and wild turkey on the drive in :). The cabin is modern, well built and furnished very nicely -- it's comfy and upscale but not formal. No plywood bunk beds or worn out linoleum here! The place was very clean and obviously well cared for. The kitchen was adequate for most simple cooking. Once there, step outside or onto the large decks and it's quiet and serene. We had deer, birds and turkeys right by the cabin. We loved it and plan to stay there again. I stayed with my daughter for a early season deer hunt. When we described the cabin and setting my wife was kicking herself for not coming. She would have loved it, and I'm hoping she'll join us next time. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely stay here again."

  • Great condo

"We had a great stay in this lovely condo. It's spacious and well laid out with all the comforts. The beds are comfortable and the master suite is very large. The views are wonderful and the price is very reasonable. This is so much nicer than a hotel!"

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
