  • Can't imagine staying anywhere else when in northern Idaho

"We had such a wonderful time here! Excellent communication from the owners, and the accommodations were above and beyond what we expected. This beautiful retreat will be our choice any time we are in the area! Thank you Frankie & Brian for opening up your home for us all to enjoy it!"

  • Perfect house for a ladies weekend!

"We had so much fun staying in this house and had everything we needed! There were 8 of us staying in the house plus two dogs and it was not cramped at all. The hot tub was awesome, even in the snow! Highly recommend this house to groups seeking a place to relax and feel at home. Half of our group went skiing at Tamarack and Brundage and the other half went ice skating and snow tubing; everyone had a blast. The owner was also very pleasant and easy to work with. Will hopefully be going back!"

  • Home Away from Home

"We hoped for a quiet place to shut down and we found it. Very quiet and the deck that looked out onto the lake was utilized each morning for sun and coffee. Wow! The fire pit is amazing as is the entire property. There is ample seating inside and out. The home is equipped with personal necessities in case you forgot something. The kitchen is equipped with more appliances than you can use and has extra refrigerator in the garage. We felt at home here. The owners went our of their way to make sure their renters are comfortable. Thank you for a great time!"

  • Amazing summer rental- walkable to pool, spacious and updated

"We visit SV a few times per year and have stayed everywhere from Hailey, to Ketchum to Elkhorn. We love Elkhorn because it is close to downtown but you don't pay downtown rates. We usually come during ski season, but summers are gorgeous in SV so we decided to take our 2 yr old and another couple for the 4th of July week to SV this year. This condo was very roomy- the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the unit, which felt like we all had our own space. It doesn't hurt that they are both master suites so they both had large bathrooms and closets. We stayed in the "true master" (king size bed) and the room was so large, we fit the king bed, a double bed (air mattress) and a pack and play easily in the room. The air matttress was already there, so if you don't mind sleeping on one and sharing a bedroom, you could easily sleep more people. Things that we loved: -Covered parking: this is clutch in both summer and winter. Easily located next to the elevator for hauling all your stuff to and from the car. -Wifi- We got horrible cell phone reception in the condo (t-mobile) but they have wifi so we didn't have any issues. Also, we got reception as soon as we were out of the building. -Walkable to pool: there are 2 pools in Elkhorn, and this condo was right across the street from the "adult" pool which had kid hours, so we spent most of our time there. There is also a "kid" pool with a lifeguard that you can drive too, but it's not too far and worth the drive if you are planning on going for longer days (diving board, spray park, volley ball court, toddler splash pool etc). -Outdoor deck & BBQ: we ate all our meals out on the deck and enjoyed the sunshine every day (but it's not very useful in the winter months ;) -Washer/dryer in the unit: if you have small children you know this is clutch. -Owners: it was really easy working with the owners- who happen to live close enough to us in Seattle that I was able to meet up with them before we headed to SV. Very nice, went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay (even left us a bottle of wine). Good to have but didn't use: -Right on the bus line that runs to town/ski lifts every 30 mins -Glof course & Tennis court access in the Elkhorn community Downsides- -No TV in the guest bedroom: totally no big deal as TV is not really the point of vacation. We just happened to be trying to watch world cup coverage from bed :) We would totally stay here again and are already looking to book our trip this winter."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
