  • Spring Skiing Perfection

"This premier home on Lake Pend Oreille is conveniently located near the Schweitzer Ski Resort. Our family of seven couldn't have had a better set up. "The Point at Sandpoint" is a local architectural highlight. The quality and layout of the home is superb. The four bedrooms gave us plenty of room for our two married children and a mother-in law. The open floor plan of the main gathering area combines a family room, kitchen and dining room, so family interactions were easy, warm and comfortable. Kellee is a terrific hostess. She is very easy to communicate with to make all of the arrangements. We were so impressed with our winter ski/snowmobile experience, we can't wait for our two weeks this coming summer."

  • Honeysuckle Bay

"The home was a little outdated, but was very comfortable and clean. No issues with the inside. Plenty of blankets and comfortable sleeping. We did not use the appliances, but they appeared to be OK. The only complaint I have was the driveway was supposed to be cleared of snow and it was not. It appeared that it snowed two days before we arrived and the driveway was cleared but additional snow had fallen which was not. This made the driveway very slippery and unusable. The owner had informed me of the slope of the driveway but assured me the driveway would be cleared. The location was perfect for us since my son lived only 5 minutes away and the view of Hayden Lake was beautiful"

  • Thanksgiving Get Away

"Very easy to live in Mike Steven's townhouse. Very clean and the kitchen is generously equipped to use if one decides to enjoy cooking. All of the techie accouterments from music to hi-speed internet is readily available. Each bedroom is well equipped for music and tele. Location is just perfect for walking to the downtown area or to enjoy a drink at the River Run Lodge. The town home is situated right by the greenbelt. Beds are comfy and warm with nice linens as well as bath linens. The edgy art is fresh and certainly not mainstream. The town home is nicely appointed with warm woods and the high paneled ceiling really adds so much to the main living area. The main bath could use some improvement with a tub to soak in but other than this last area to upgrade, this is really a lovely place to stay. Views are very nice with many windows to enjoy the local vistas. Plenty of room for up to six. Four is perfect!! We will be back to enjoy!!"

  • Relaxing Weekend Getaway

"We had such a great time at this lake cabin. It was perfect for our needs (kids ages 9 & 12 with primary goal of playing in the water the whole weekend). It has a great dock, beach & swim area. Lots of deck space overlooking the lake with great views. There are neighbors but they are not so close as to be intrusive. This is a great area of the lake. Very relaxing & beautiful. I enjoyed lounging on the top deck with a book when my kids were noisy & rowdy in the water. I could still watch them but not get splashed. The kids loved the loft bedroom. The cabin is not fancy or very modern but was cute, comfy and everything we needed. The owner was a very nice man, easy to work with and communicate with. We went in August and the weather was perfect. We hope to be back next summer. Things to be aware of: The road is narrow & driveway is steep. We got a lot of good exercise going up & down the stairs. Not the cabin for toddlers or anyone who can't do stairs."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
