  • Guys Week 5 Guys

"Rented cabin with four of my buddies for a week. On first day of arrival, we drove past two (2) young moose a few hundred yards away from the home. Awesome, watched them for about 30 minutes. Went fishing, eating, hiking....AWESOME!!! The home is incredible and like new. Beds comfortable. Home is large with big wrap around porch, barbeque, lounging. The residents of Sandpoint come to Dover Bay to vacate and hike/bike. Will go again next year with a few more buds. Thanks for the good times!!"

  • Amazing Place

"We truly enjoyed our stay. This place was amazing, the rooms were spacious, the kitchen was spacious and opened up to living area. This place had everything you could ask for....a large refrigerator, washer/dryer and ton of places to hang your wet ski clothes and the hot tub was so much fun for the kids (and adults too). It is perfect skin in/out access. The floors were heated, the master bath was great with Jacuzzi tub! Would highly recommend this place and hope to visit again soon!"

  • Stunning vacation home

"Have been to Driggs, Idaho before, for fly fishing and golf. Found this property and couldn't have had a nicer more comfortable home. The property is exactly as pictured, views are stunning. Clean, spacious, nicely appointed log cabin. The property manager, Cindy was responsive and understanding to our questions. Please take the time to stay here. Our sincerest thanks to Susan and Clark the owners and of course Karrie."

  • The title is accurate but does not tell the whole story. This is more tha a recreational paradise.

"The hardest part of this retreat is believing it is the one on the hill with the most beautiful view of all. When we stopped at a neighbor's place to make sure we were in the right place, he said< "no, it's that one up there," pointing to a beautiful home at the top of the opposite hill. The pictures in the listing cannot do the actual location justice. When we walked into the upstairs studio, we found a cute, well-designed and appointed unit with all the amenities you could want for a comfortable stay. It was clean, well-maintained and the owners invited us for wine and to show us how to best get to Mt. Rushmore (our ultimate destination). We found great hiking and fishing nearby, without the crowds we found in Jackson. The owners were not there when we first arrived, but they had told us to help ourselves to the hot tub next door. Wow!! What a spa...and what views from the warmth of the water. We would recommend this retreat to any of our friends or relatives and plan to stop here every time we are traveling east through the Tetons. It is a much better stay than anything we could have found in the Jackson area. When we left Chuck's place, we took he and his wife's advice and took the route through Yellowstone and to Cody instead of through the southern part of Wyoming. The trip was fantastic and the views incredible. We would never had known to go that route without Chuck's help. These two are fantastic hosts and know what it takes to make travelers feel at home. Don't miss the opportunity to stay at their studio if you are traveling through the Teton/Yellowstone area. You won't regret meeting them and enjoying their hospitality."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
