  • Fantastic condo ideally located

"This was the perfect place for our visit to Sun Valley! The condo was just as beautiful, clean and charming as it appears in the photos and the kitchen had better pits and pans than I use at home. The location can't be beat. We walked to the slopes just as easily as we walked to restaurants, bars and shops in town. Doug and Catherine checked in to make sure everything was taken care of - which indeed it was. We definitely plan to return to Sun Valley and this condo. Terrific find!"

  • A stellar property

"Wonderful locale, convenient to shopping, clean, secure and quiet. The River Run neighborhood is established and quite pleasant. Friendly and congenial owner who provided us with great ideas about the area."

  • Thanksgiving getaway

"We rented this cabin for Thanksgiving with our two sons home from college. The lights were on and waiting for us when we arrived, and it's a quaint, cozy property. We enjoyed having our dogs with us, and appreciated the excellent wi-fi service. Overall, the cabin is well-suited for a family with younger children, as our adult sons refused to sleep in the cramped loft, and the many movies are generally for a young audience. There is no place to put groceries other than the fridge, but the kitchen is otherwise well-stocked. It made cooking a large holiday meal a challenge, but not impossible. The living room and bedrooms are in need of some updating. A queen-sized bed in the master would be a great idea, although the foam mattress topper was comfortable. The wood pile was well-stocked, but there were no instructions as to how to keep the wood-burning stove stoked and the fan running. (please add to the cottage notebook) The wall heater in the living room is not adequate for warmth unless the fire is going. Flannel sheets at this time of year would be helpful as well. We never did figure out how to turn on the light fixture in the dining area. Overall, enjoyed the location and property."

  • Wonderful and cozy condo...perfect for families

"We found this rental to be perfectly equipped for our family. We had all the amenities and space we could possibly need. The master bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well-appointed for holiday cooking. The mountain view from the dining room table was exquisite...a perfect perch for watching the snow fall on Christmas Eve. Thank you, Scott, for saving the day when I misplaced the condo instructions. We were able to get right in with no delay. It really is perfectly located. Thank you for sharing this special place with us. Would definitely come back and stay here in the future."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
