  • First Class accommodations with Ketchum in your backyard!

"For many people visiting the Sun Valley area for the first time, it can be difficult to determine where is the ideal location to stay to take advantage of everything the region has to offer. Sun Valley is actually comprised of several different incorporated towns (Ketchum, Hailey, Bellevue, Elkhorn, and the Village of Sun Valley itself). If this is you're first time visiting the Sun Valley area or you're a regular, in our opinion, staying in downtown Ketchum is where you want to be. It's the epicenter of the area and provides walkable access to the area's best restaurants, shopping, art galleries, and of course, the Sun Valley resort (Mt. Baldy). If you're a modest walker, the valley's public bus transportation is top notch, and is free within the Sun Valley area itself. We have been visiting the valley for the past few years, and have never felt the need to have an automobile when staying in downtown Ketchum. You can read the reviews on the accommodations offered...they are first class, and the owner and management staff go out of their way to offer every possible amenity you could need to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I will add just a few additional comments regarding the condo; 1) While advertised as a 1 BR, don't be afraid to utilize the den with pull out bed as an overflow for a second couple or children. The second full bath comes in handy here as well. 2) The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need to prepare your meals in, although you will be tempted to eat out every night with some of the best restaurants just blocks from the condo. 3) The master bed is very comfortable with excellent bed and bath linens and provides for much needed rest and relaxation. If you're looking for first class accommodations with Ketchum in your backyard, book this unit now. You won't be disappointed."

  • McRory9 Family Reunion

"A family reunion to remember thanks to the beauty of Cider Mountain and the family that runs this site. This is an amazing place where every detail is attended to. The main house, the cabins, as well as the grounds are immaculate. There was everything we needed in the professional kitchen. There was something for every age and everyone took advantage playing the arcade games, disc golf, ping pong, basketball, shooting pool or just relaxing on the patio or screened in porch. The pictures of this site do not begin to show how great it really is. Corrie and Chris were always helpful, responding quickly to our every question and concern. Not sure how to express our gratitude other than by just saying THANKS for helping make our reunion such a success. A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT goes to their daughter who came through when our photographer cancelled at the last minute. Every family asked me to say a SPECIAL THANKS for the wonderful portraits of their individual family groups. Thanks Tessa for stepping in and doing such a professional job. We loved the instant gratification of being able to take our photo files home with us."

  • Gorgeous Home on the Lake!

"We have rented this home for the last couple of years for our family reunion. It was so wonderful the first time we decided to rent it again. There were 15 of us and we were able to spread out and be very comfortable with quiet corners for napping or just hanging out. This home is gorgeous and immaculate all the way around. The views are outstanding and beautiful. We like to be near a body of water and this home is perfect for that. We feel like we have our very own corner of the earth! We have very high standards for cleanliness and atmosphere and this home delivers without exception. Beautiful furnishings, fireplaces, a large kitchen and dining area that accommodates large groups. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and do not disappoint. Love all the optional activities with the pool room, ping pong, several TVs and an upstairs bonus room that has a two sets of bunk beds with a TV for movies. Location is ideal as it is just minutes away from outside activity or less than an hour to hit the ski slopes. The owners are some of the nicest people we have ever worked with and always respond quickly with any question. And did I mention anything about how organized she is with information regarding the property and activities which are in the area? Helen, you are the greatest and thanks for having such a great property to use for our special trips. We hope to return again for our next reunion!"

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
