  • Superb Ketchum Townhome

"This was the perfect summer escape for my family of five. The townhome is in a great Ketchum location and provides every luxury that could be desired. We really appreciated all of the attention to detail; this home has it all. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the views of the neighboring mountains were awesome. I am sure that the big garage and proximity to the slopes would make this place just as great for a winter visit. The location is excellent with easy walking distance both to town and to River Run. All that Sun Valley has to offer is right at your finger tips. We particularly enjoyed hiking the many trails around Sun Valley and the beautiful trip up Highway 75 to Galena Lodge and beyond for hiking, biking, horseback riding, etc. Redfish Lake, the Salmon River and the town of Stanley are great destinations as well. The owner is a joy to work with and is very responsive to requests. Highly recommended. Peter in Seattle."

"I rented this vacation rental for my daughters grooms family from MN for their wedding! It met and exceeded our expectations. The home was very spacious and very clean. It is within walking distance which made it very nice for them to enjoy our beautiful city to it's fullest! I would recommend this home to anyone."

  • What a View!

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Grandview cabin. The view out the front is just incredible. We watched the sun go down on the Tetons from the front porch on several evenings and just loved it. The cabin is clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped (we brought things we didn't need to). The drinking water from the tap was excellent (not something I usually comment on but it was really good). ATV trails on the forest adjacent to this area are easily reached from the cabin and exceeded our expectations in beauty of scenery and variety of terrain. The UV protected windows did a good job keeping things from getting too hot and in late afternoon and evenings it was wonderful to open the windows and feel the cool mountain breeze. Parking is tight. The area has so much opportunity to offer. In addition to the ATV trails there are mountain bike trails nearby and we really enjoyed going to Grand Targhee Ski resort, riding the quad to the top then hiking from there. Very beautiful. The area is very quiet and un-crowded. Why 4 Stars? There is nothing wrong with this cabin---having rented a few places off VRBO I tend to reserve 5 stars for places that really have luxury quality furnishings and appointments. Again the cabin was comfortable and a lot of fun. We really enjoyed our stay."

  • A wonderful place to stay in Ketchum!

"Our family recently stayed at this home for a reunion. It truly was a memorable week, a great time for all. There were 16 of us, 10 adults and 6 children (age range of the kids was from 9 months to 13 years). This house worked out perfectly for the whole group, VERY spacious with plenty of storage space including a hallway where we kept odds and ends. Two very comfortable nice-sized living rooms which was wonderful because the kids essentially used one and the adults used the other. Great kitchen, two dining room tables that could easily accommodate 16 adults plus barstools at the kitchen island. Laundry room and separate computer area, both off the kitchen. The layout of the house worked out well as there were essentially 5 families and each family had their own bedroom. In addition, for sleeping space, there's a cozy pull-out sleeper sofa in one of the downstairs living rooms. In the front of the home there's a LARGE master suite upstairs and a junior suite downstairs, each with their own bath plus an additional separate bathroom off the hallway. Towards the middle of the home, there's a stairway leading up to 3 more bedrooms, one room with multiple twin sized beds, a bathroom in the upstairs hallway and the other two bedrooms share a shower (each bedroom has their own sink and toilet but they do share a common shower). The patio was fabulous ... lots of space with tables and chairs, a HUGE hot tub, a BBQ, pretty lawn and stunning flower beds. In the garage there's a pool table and an amazing selection of books to read. Parking was plentiful. Nice location, not far from downtown Ketchum, close to Warm Springs Lodge. Of course, our visit was in the summer but I'd definitely recommend this home year round."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
