  • Summer Fun!

"We were very happy to have such a clean, well-maintained, and beautiful home to stay in for our reunion. We were a group of sorority sisters getting together for our "once a year get-together" and all would stay at this townhome again! In fact, a few of us are keeping it in mind for a winter rental with our families, we liked it so much. It is a great family home as well. Most of us have spent a lot of time in Sun Valley and have stayed in numerous locations, and consider this to be a perfect location to access all of the activities of the area."

  • Awesome place to stay

"Our daughter and her family(5), son and his family(6) and my wife and I enjoyed Ski Hill Ranch very much. We rented the lockout as well so each family had their own area as well as the spacious main floor which had seating for 10 adults. The house has a great view of the Tetons and sits in a very quiet area. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pot and pans for any cooking that we wanted to do. The only recommendation I would make to improve the house would be to add some railings. The house is close to the Targhee resort where we did horseback riding. The grandkids enjoyed this. Broulim's market in Driggs is a very well stock supermarket with anything and everything you need(closed Sundays). Going over Teton pass is about 45 minutes to get to Grand Teton entrance and going north through West Yellowstone is about a two hour drive. We did both and enjoyed the drives. They had a property manager also who answered any questions we had and would have been able to take care of an problems if they arose. This was a plus as he took care of garbage. There were bicycles in the garage to ride along with fishing poles to use at ponds and rivers in area."

  • Great place, perfect for our group!

"Our group included 5 families with all with small children. I as impressed by the size of the bedrooms. We had room for portable cribs. The living area was large enough for all of us to use and the view was great of the Tetons. The kitchen provided everything we needed and there is a large dining table and bar with stools. It was great to have a washer and dryer for all our dirty kids. We we glad to have a grill to cook burgers and steak, almost like being home. The location of the house was convenient to Driggs, Teton Canyon and Grand Targhee. We would love to stay again next time we go to Targhee Blue Grass Festival."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
