  • Fabulous Fall Foliage and Fun!

"What a wonderful spot for a family reunion! The house is spectacular with beautiful lake views from the three decks plus fall foliage and pine trees! All ten of us had comfortable beds and plenty of privacy. The kitchen had every piece of equipment we needed for gourmet meals. The on-deck barbecue was perfect to cook corn, salmon and shrimp kebabs all at one time! Having three kayaks and a pedal boat allowed us to do some exploring around the island and a creek that flows into the lake nearby. We lay on the dock at night for a view of millions of stars that you don't even know are visible when you live in the city. The open floor plan of the kitchen, dining room and living room allowed for many separate activity areas but we were all together and always with a view of the lake. The house was clean and well-maintained...in fact, it exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return!"

  • A nice getaway for Mom and Dad!

"This is a cute little cabin. Overall we found the cabin in good shape and well taken care of. The cabin sits very close to several other cabins, but it is far enough away to still seem private. One cabin is a little close, but we just closed the blinds on that side. The stream is amazing. The sound is wonderful. They have a picnic table and fire pit next to the stream. The cabin has an amazing front porch. It is well stocked with a wood box and the owners have put a gas grill, patio table and lots of chairs so that you can enjoy the porch even more. I was slightly envious of the neighbors fire pit on the porch. That would have been fun to use in the rain! The inside of the cabin is small. But the owners have taken the time to decorate in a way that is nice and functional. They have gone with the log cabin theme down to the futon. Which was surprisingly comfortable despite being a futon! It was great for a catnap, but I still don’t know that I would want to sleep all night on it. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. No dishwasher which was fine for us. The bathroom is tiny, but had everything needed. The shower was great for me (5’6”) but if you are tall I could see the showerhead height being a problem. The towels were soft. The beds seem relatively new and in great shape. The linens were a nice quality and warm. The rooms don’t have closets, and are a little tight once you add luggage. But they have hooks on the walls in each room and a luggage rack. We enjoyed walking down to the dock. It took us about 15 minutes to walk all the way down to the dock from the cabin. There were beautiful blue flowers all over. There were lots of places to walk near the cabin. The wireless wasn’t’ working when we got there and it didn’t get fixed while we were there. A mix up with the username and password. It was listed incorrectly in the rental info binder, and I’m sure will be up and running for the next group. Speaking of the binder, it was informative, but it needs a copy of the rental policies. When it came to leave we had to look up the website (on our smartphone) and figure out how to check out. The rental company owner was great. She was very easy to work with and very responsive to phone calls. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin!"

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
