  • Hayden lake cabin

"We loved the cabin on Hayden lake. It was clean and comfortable with a great view. The only drawback was we could not swim at the beach below the cabin and about 3pm the west sun was blinding. Due to the close proximity to our daughter's house in Hayden the location was perfect."

  • Great Trip to Ketchum with Kids

"We truly enjoyed our stay here. The condo is cozy but has three spacious bedrooms. It was well-stocked with everything you'd need for an enjoyable stay. The only thing that didn't work was the ice/water dispenser on the fridge. Other than that, everything worked as it should. We stayed with two toddlers and there ample room for them plus four adults. Just be aware there is no AC so it gets very hot when it's warm. The front window in the living room does not have curtains so the sun just beats down and makes it very hot. I'd definitely recommend adding curtains to keep things cooler in warm months. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend especially for colder months as the fireplace was lovely. We even used the hot tub outside which was great!"

  • Very happy family!

"WOW! What a great location. When my husband told me we were going to take our family vacation in Island Park and stay at a cabin in the woods. I started to panic. My mother is in the hospital here at home so I was concerned we wouldn't have a way to contact family... Would we have phone service? Would we have internet to check our emails? I doubted this. But my husband assured me we could drive into town daily to check up on things at home. I wasn't excited.. Personally I need running water and a fully functioning toilet... Not to mention a PHONE! But my children were excited not to mention my husband has been going to Island Park with his dad and brothers every year since he was six. So I went along and kept my concerns to my self! When we pulled into the Cabin I was instantly excited... I had three bars of service on my cell! Walking into the cabin, my son turns on the TV. I told him to go get dvd's from our car. But to all our surprise we had cable AND WIFI!!! My son was able to connect to wifi to play his kindle on nights he had some down time also I could check my email when ever I wanted! This cabin has a HOT TUB. What a wonderful relaxing way to end every night after a day of being in the cold snowmobiling. Here we are in the beautiful Forest with all the beauty of the country. We were able to drive just a short distance to go fishing, snowmobiling and snow shoeing and still have phone service, wifi and cable! Our vacation was perfect. I couldn't of asked for a better cabin and location for our vacation. The cabin was beautiful. The location was perfect. Sherrie was wonderful and helped us with all the things we thought we might need to know or to bring. No matter how many times myself or my daughter called them with questions they were very helpful!! We will be back year after year. I will never go anywhere else camping. Everything you could possibly need is in Island Park including some of the nicest people we have ever met. Its such a fun friendly place to spend time making memories. THANKS Island park reservations!"

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
