  • Wonderful vacation for our family

"What a great cabin in such a lovely location! Lots of wildlife out here and the fall colors were beautiful. Enjoyed the firepit and hot tub every night. The place had wifi and tv but we hardley used that stuff as we spent most days outside. Got nice photos of a moose and a very large owl who we spotted every evening around sunset. Plenty of beds for our family of 12. Lots of ATV trails close to the cabin, so fun riding for everyone. Nice break from our busy lives."

  • Exactly as Pictured!

"Wonderful property; close to everything. Susan and her family are such gracious people and made our stay very comfortable; treated us like family. The property is immaculate, very well furnished with all the comforts (and kitchen appliances) of home. The fenced backyard with dinette was a plus for dinners outdoors or just to sit and relax. We stayed for the month of August and took mini-trips to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, even venturing east to the Black Hills to see Mt. Rushmore, etc. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area! (Very nice neighbors, as well.) Mike La Quinta, CA"

  • Great Elkhorn Condo

"What a great place to stay and there was plenty of room for 4 adults. It was very clean and comfortable--everything as advertised and more. Judith even made sure that the windows were open when we arrived--what a nice welcome! Will definitely stay here again."

  • Comfortable, Welcoming, Convenient Condo

"I visited Targhee for skiing in late March with my teenage son and a friend of his. This Teton Creek Resort condo worked out really well for us. I found it to be comfortable, welcoming, clean, light and airy. The two boys were comfortable on the 2 queen beds; I had plenty of space in the king bedroom where I slept well. It was really quiet (always a concern of mine for sleeping) and the sound of the creek could be heard when we opened the windows. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. And the two hot tubs are nearby and unusually large - the guys loved that. The location at Teton Creek is a real asset – its located just minutes from cafes and restaurants in Driggs (I recommend “Provisions” on Main St for breakfast) and it’s also just a few minutes up Ski Hill Road to Targhee Ski Resort. Everything seems nearby. The owner provided us with a basket of snacks which the teenagers happily tore into on our arrival. A nice touch. It was a good fit for us and I would return to this condo for a future visit."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
