  • Great Home!

"We had a large group gathering of 22 people at this location. Sue was helpful, responsive, and very delightful! The home was very clean and well furnished for a self catered gathering. We will absolutely book another event at this location!"

  • A perfect base for visiting Chicago

"We had a wonderful 12 night stay in this apartment. It is clean, airy, spacious, very well equipped and in a lovely leafy neighbourhood. It is very hard to find fault. The booking and payment was straightforward and a security code for the front door meant we didn't need to collect keys etc. The place is exactly like the description and photos. The rear deck with a grill was a welcome outside space which we used when we weren't eating out. It is a few minutes walk to the train station at Sedgwick and then a few stops to downtown Chicago. Also an easy walk to Lincoln Park. For less than the price of a modest downtown hotel, this was a much better base for Chicago. Thoroughly recommended."

  • Clean, comfortable and close to it all!

"My husband and I treated ourselves and our youngest son and his fiancee to a long weekend in Chicago. We couldn't have chosen a lovelier location! The apartment was spacious, clean and close to public transportation. It was so nice to have covered parking, also. We enjoyed delicious coffee and Swedish pastries for breakfast (from the Swedish Bakery - you have to go!) each morning in the kitchen and sunroom. The walk to the train stop was nice - so many beautiful homes to see along the way. And, we just loved the Andersonville shops! Don't miss the Swedish Museum! This location was a perfect base for exploring the city and surrounding neighborhoods. Paul was very helpful in answering our questions and is an owner that takes pride in his apartment. We definitely plan to return on our next long weekend in Chicago."

  • Summer on the Lake

"I picked this location because I wanted lakefront and I wanted to be close to family in Cary Illinois. This property is not brand new. It could best be described as Prairie Home Companion on the inside and Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss on the outside. This rental really does deliver 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We had 5 Adults and 2 preschoolers staying nightly and were joined by two more adults and two more preschoolers during the days. The downstairs bedroom was a plus for my 90 year old Father who is still able climb the 4 steps to the front door. We had two computers, two tablets and several phones running on the wireless Internet without any problems. It was fast enough to stream movies for the kids. The house has 4 TVs and Cable but we never turned them on during our stay. Meals were easy to prepare in the kitchen and we also used the outside gas grill and fire pit. We were able to fit everyone around the expanding table. We also used the two outdoor picnic tables. We did day trips to the Brookfield Zoo and to the Shedd Aquarium by car although we could have used Metra which is very close by. We drove twice to the park where Hwy 12 crosses over Fox Lake. There is a good playland there for the kids and also a boat ramp if you need one. The dock is serviceable, but the water is only about 3 feet deep at the end. You need to understand your boat's draft requirements. I brought two kayaks and bought two 10 day lake stickers. The kayaking was good through the week, but the lake can be busy with skiers on Friday through Sunday. Boats can sky within 150 feet of the shore which is within my casting distance from the end of the dock. I spent most evenings on the back porch. It's nice on a cool evening with a breeze. On still nights you might want bug spray. The solid gate was highly effective in keeping four energetic preschoolers from reaching the yard which runs right to the seawall. I brought my own childrens' life vests which I made the kids wear when on the dock. I did see some vests at the property. When you're on the lake you feel like you're on vacation and away from it all. Nevertheless you are very close to all kinds of shopping. If you need something, it is probably available close by. Because of the lake's coastline it can be confusing getting from one point to another. If you are not familiar with the area you might want to have a navigation system in your car. I used the one in my smart phone."
