"We had a great stay at Jon's penthouse place above the Volo restaurant. FYI - the food and drinks are great at Volo! We had a great time there one night. Also please note that this rental is up on the 3rd floor and the restaurant is on the 1st floor, so we heard no noise from this operation during the evening. The location is perfect! There must be 10 restaurants and 5 bars within 3 blocks of this place. We will be back again! So much to see in Chicago!"

"Five of us high school girlfriends (now sixty somethings!) stayed at this property for 5 day weekend and it could not have been more perfect! The home is comfortable and clean and had room for all of us. The kitchen island was great for sitting around while we cooked and talked; the living room was great for more talking and wine. The neighborhood is really cute and safe. The area had great shopping and restaurants and a really nice grocery store (with liquor) in walking distance. With the train only a couple of blocks, it worked great not to bother with a rental car. We would love to come back and will definitely check Chicago Guest House availability! Teri had the lights on and music playing when we arrived. She also was able to allow us to check in early and drop our bags so we could get out and about with out lugging our bags. Thanks for an awesome vacation!"

Great middle ground between a hotel and staying at an individually owned property
"This property, while VRBO, is managed by a professional group - http://www.athomeinnchicago.com. We saw the benefits of this arrangement immediately when the wax ring on the toilet broke while we were there. We called while on our way to the Shedd Aquarium downtown and it was fixed before we made it back to the unit. I'm not sure that would have happened if this was just someone's house they were away from. And everything in terms of payment and details for checking in were extremely clear and well documented.
As for the accommodations, they were exactly as advertised. Pictures perfectly represent the property and the location is great. Being a few blocks from the Sedgwick stop on the EL means you can get just about anywhere in the city easily.
My only minor complaint is that the property smelled musty and that took some getting used to. The place was reasonably clean but not immaculate. We have very young kids so I spent quite a bit of time on the floor and fishing toys out from under furniture so keep in mind that my inspection of the cleanliness got a little more intense than most people will experience!
I would definitely stay again."

"We enjoyed a great 4 night stay in this condo that comfortably housed 8 of us. Located in the Lincoln Park, we were minutes away from the Red/Purple/Brown Line stop (Fullerton), De Paul University, and other area highlights. With cafes and a Whole Foods right around the corner, this was the perfect spot for us to enjoy Chicago while maintaining access to area amenities.
Inside the unassuming exterior, the two story condo was spotless, with keyless entry (4-digit code), plenty of spare linens, and in-unit washer/dryer. The Kitchen had everything we needed, as well as a grill on the back patio. The only small complaint here is that the front "balcony" (quite small, and probably unsafe) was bolted shut, for good reason, but it didn't allow us to open the windows for airflow. The Unit had wifi and cable as well. You'll need to go to up a flight of stairs to get to the first level, so it might not be
Additionally, we were able to push for a later checkout with Roscoe Village Guesthouses the day of and they were gracious enough to accommodate. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend."
