  • Great home base for a car-free vacation

"My sister and I stayed here for six nights. The listing description and pictures are very accurate. The beds were comfortable, and the new curtains blocked the early morning sun. The air-conditioner maintained a cool and comfortable refuge from August heat and humidity after a day of sightseeing. Our hosts, Marta and Jason, live on-site. We appreciated everything they did to make our stay enjoyable, from stocking our kitchen with coffee and breakfast food, to recommending restaurants and pubs, to advising us on public transportation. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, a short walk to great restaurants, groceries, shopping, the train to The Loop, and several bus lines. Uber cars run in this neighborhood for the times you want door-to-door transportation. It was very fun to live in a neighborhood instead of a more expensive hotel. Some of our favorite places to walk to were Mindy's Hot Chocolate for wonderful pastries and Mexican hot chocolate, and The Southern for cocktails and the best fried chicken. We also liked the easy access to downtown Chicago - just four stops away on the Blue Line at Damen and Milwaukee."

  • Guys Reunion - perfect place for small groups

"I live nearby but my apartment is entirely too small to host 8 guys on a reunion weekend. We're all 30 somethings and rented this coach house over Labor Day weekend and it worked out great. Obviously the Paulina brown line stop is super close, there are also Divvy bikes and Zipcars right there too for transportation. The Whole Foods being next door is great for last minute or quick supply runs if needed. Plenty of local bars / restaurants within a very close walk. And the Southport Corridor bars are close too - about 2 long blocks away. The 2 bathrooms were very important for our 8 guys so that is a big improvement. When we booked it only had one, so I guess we're the lucky ones! We slept 8 pretty easily with the 4 beds, pullout couch, and a couple aerobeds. Only one minor complaint is that the 2 parking passes (if you drive to park and we had a friend that needed to) were expired so we couldn't even use them. Whole Foods parking attendant will let you park for $10 a night which was a pretty good deal though for Chicago. All in all, this place is good for almost any group looking for a little space and great value."

  • Great property in a fun neighborhood!

"We recently spent a wonderful weekend in Chicago. The property is in a great location - walk to amazing restaurants, cute neighborhood shops and walk to public transportation. The apartment is just as described if not better! The owner was great to work with. He communicated with us for our arrival with clear instructions for check-in. There was information in the apartment for restaurants and sights to see in Chicago. We have found a great place to stay for our future visits to Chicago."
