  • Cozy Comfort on Chicago's North Side

"I recently re-visited Chicago for a college reunion. The first thing I can say about Magnolia Studios is that it is a real haven in a busy city. It's tucked away on a residential street and the studio is in an old brick coach house. It's been completely updated but feels 'historic' and is behind the main house in a charming garden. There are two studios I the building and ours had everything that one would need: well-appointed bathroom with a good shower, kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, toaster, microwave and all cooking essentials, very comfortable queen bed and all the necessary accessories - iron, blow dryer, etc. There is room for a third person which we thought we would need but didn't. It's amazing that the space doesn't feel crowded, but the whole place is very relaxing and calm. There are extra supplies at the top of the stairs which we didn't see immediately, but they're very useful. There's a limitless supply of coffee pods, bottled water, toiletries and towels! It was easy for my boyfriend and I to catch the nearby bus to Loyola or downtown so I could show him the sights. Most important of all, the studio was spotlessly clean. All in all, we were blown away by this place. It's a great deal and we will definitely be back in the summer."

  • The Wagner weekend

"We had a great stay in the home and the general family area was clean and comfortable. Some things I would improve upon would be better quality sheets.....two of the rooms had nylon sheets which are very uncomfortable. Also one bedroom has no window covering which is annoying to wake up to! The kitchen was well equipped with many utensils and dishes but no 13 x 9 pans were available for cooking for the large crowd. We also ran out of paper towels and toilet paper after the first day and when spending that kind of money, I would think we would have plenty of those types of supplies available to us. We also cleaned well, but did not have enough garbage bags. a few other comments...the large table was tilting when we put our elbows on it and the rocking chair was not working easily. I mention these because I do not want to be held responsible for things that were not functioning when we arrived. It's a great spot to gather a large group."

  • Perfect for exploring Chicago!

"My wife and I stayed here for five days along with another couple from Australia during September. The Accommodations were as advertised, clean, very comfortable and complete. The Old Town neighborhood was very nice, and the El station was within easy walking distance; only a few stops from downtown. We enjoyed a show at nearby second city and also a great dinner in a nearby pub. The owners were very good to work with, and graciously allowed us late check-out since our Amtrak departure was late in the day. We are definitely coming back for further Chicago adventures. Make sure to take the downtown architectural cruise on the Chicago River.... excellent."

  • Adorable apartment in an amazing location!

"We booked this adorable apartment for our four day trip to Chicago This was our first visit to Chicago and I could not have picked a nicer place or better location. We took the train in from the airport and walked to the apartment. Despite the fact that it was very cold, we walked a lot and utilized the subway and buses to get around. The neighborhood was always busy and we always felt safe. If we ever return to Chicago, I guarantee we will book one of the three apartments in this historic brownstone."
