"Just returned from a lovely stay at a wonderful mini farm set in some pretty rolling wooded hills. The best word I can think of to describe the cabin is charming and the owners are charming, warm lovely people as well. The farm has some friendly horses, cows, a dog and a cat and some nice hiking. If you would like a taste of the "country life" this property is perfect. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and that this is your home away from home. I got a yummy plate of freshly baked cookies and even a tour of the main house! It's quiet and peaceful and the master bedroom bed is thick foam mattress and super comfy. You are away from it all and yet a few minutes drive and you can find groceries or a fine restaurant. It truly is the best of both worlds and I would definitely stay there again"

"The penthouse was more than we ever imagined!! It was as comfortable as home, convenient to get in and out, perfectly located, and as you can see, it was on top of the city! We could honestly have stayed in for 2 days and just enjoyed the space and the view. I would recommend this for families, 3-4 couples or just someone that enjoys the finer things while traveling. We will definitely be back for different occasions! Unlike some, this was EXACTLY as the photo's show it. To top it off, I doubt you could find a better owner, (who was quick to respond to any type of request or need we may have thought of), or more precise directions to make your arrival and access more flawless. It was much easier to come and go thanks to them!! Convenient... Reasonable... Luxury... & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"This was an absolutely perfect home base for our 5 day stay in Chicago. Both the building & apartment were clean and well-maintained (you are really getting what is in the photos), communication was excellent with the owner and the doormen were super helpful and welcoming.
With four women in our group, we moved the trundle bed to a corner of the living room for the weekend and everyone had plenty of space.
The location & view were fabulous. We enjoyed seeing the apartment from the water while on an Architecture Foundation River Cruise and felt comfortable and safe walking to and from restaurants late at night.
We would happily use this apartment for future visits and recommend staying here to friends."

"I picked this location because I wanted lakefront and I wanted to be close to family in Cary Illinois.
This property is not brand new. It could best be described as Prairie Home Companion on the inside and Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss on the outside. This rental really does deliver 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We had 5 Adults and 2 preschoolers staying nightly and were joined by two more adults and two more preschoolers during the days. The downstairs bedroom was a plus for my 90 year old Father who is still able climb the 4 steps to the front door.
We had two computers, two tablets and several phones running on the wireless Internet without any problems. It was fast enough to stream movies for the kids. The house has 4 TVs and Cable but we never turned them on during our stay.
Meals were easy to prepare in the kitchen and we also used the outside gas grill and fire pit. We were able to fit everyone around the expanding table. We also used the two outdoor picnic tables.
We did day trips to the Brookfield Zoo and to the Shedd Aquarium by car although we could have used Metra which is very close by. We drove twice to the park where Hwy 12 crosses over Fox Lake. There is a good playland there for the kids and also a boat ramp if you need one.
The dock is serviceable, but the water is only about 3 feet deep at the end. You need to understand your boat's draft requirements. I brought two kayaks and bought two 10 day lake stickers. The kayaking was good through the week, but the lake can be busy with skiers on Friday through Sunday. Boats can sky within 150 feet of the shore which is within my casting distance from the end of the dock.
I spent most evenings on the back porch. It's nice on a cool evening with a breeze. On still nights you might want bug spray. The solid gate was highly effective in keeping four energetic preschoolers from reaching the yard which runs right to the seawall. I brought my own childrens' life vests which I made the kids wear when on the dock. I did see some vests at the property.
When you're on the lake you feel like you're on vacation and away from it all. Nevertheless you are very close to all kinds of shopping. If you need something, it is probably available close by. Because of the lake's coastline it can be confusing getting from one point to another. If you are not familiar with the area you might want to have a navigation system in your car. I used the one in my smart phone."
