"We just came back from Chicago. We wanted to thank the owners and the staff for your assistance. We had a great time. All the info that was provided made it easy to maneuver through the city. The condo was very impressive and our friends from overseas had an excellent time. You helped me over-deliver in a big way! We will definitely recommend your property to our friends, and hopefully we will come back soon!"

"Doc's Lakeside Cabin is the PERFECT get-away vacation spot... from the personal touch at reservations to the friendly greeting by 'Daisy', everything is 1st class. The pictures of the cabin are do not do justice to the warm, inviting and comfortable décor. The daily serenade of songbirds and the nightly serenade of frogs make this the most relaxing vacation spot possible. Even though Mother Nature did not cooperate, and it rained all but 2 days of our stay, we are already planning a return visit."

"I picked this location because I wanted lakefront and I wanted to be close to family in Cary Illinois.
This property is not brand new. It could best be described as Prairie Home Companion on the inside and Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss on the outside. This rental really does deliver 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We had 5 Adults and 2 preschoolers staying nightly and were joined by two more adults and two more preschoolers during the days. The downstairs bedroom was a plus for my 90 year old Father who is still able climb the 4 steps to the front door.
We had two computers, two tablets and several phones running on the wireless Internet without any problems. It was fast enough to stream movies for the kids. The house has 4 TVs and Cable but we never turned them on during our stay.
Meals were easy to prepare in the kitchen and we also used the outside gas grill and fire pit. We were able to fit everyone around the expanding table. We also used the two outdoor picnic tables.
We did day trips to the Brookfield Zoo and to the Shedd Aquarium by car although we could have used Metra which is very close by. We drove twice to the park where Hwy 12 crosses over Fox Lake. There is a good playland there for the kids and also a boat ramp if you need one.
The dock is serviceable, but the water is only about 3 feet deep at the end. You need to understand your boat's draft requirements. I brought two kayaks and bought two 10 day lake stickers. The kayaking was good through the week, but the lake can be busy with skiers on Friday through Sunday. Boats can sky within 150 feet of the shore which is within my casting distance from the end of the dock.
I spent most evenings on the back porch. It's nice on a cool evening with a breeze. On still nights you might want bug spray. The solid gate was highly effective in keeping four energetic preschoolers from reaching the yard which runs right to the seawall. I brought my own childrens' life vests which I made the kids wear when on the dock. I did see some vests at the property.
When you're on the lake you feel like you're on vacation and away from it all. Nevertheless you are very close to all kinds of shopping. If you need something, it is probably available close by. Because of the lake's coastline it can be confusing getting from one point to another. If you are not familiar with the area you might want to have a navigation system in your car. I used the one in my smart phone."

"I booked this unit for a 30th birthday weekend getaway. We had (7) people total - (3) couples and (1) additional person. This unit was perfect for us!
- Location: This unit is walking distance to Wrigley Field and Wrigleyville which has great restaurants and bars. Around the corner is a bunch of great restaurants, and one block away is the Belmont CTA stop which will get you on the Red Line and is a straight shot into downtown if you need to get there. It's a quiet neighborhood but around the corner is great nightlife if that's what you're looking for.
- Accommodations: There were (3) bedrooms - each one had a comfortable full size bed with a closet. There was a living area with a couch (not a sleeper sofa), a dining table with (6) chairs and a full kitchen fully stocked with plates, cups, silverware, and basic cooking utencils. (2) full bathrooms, plenty of towels, and a hair dryer! Iron and ironing board were there as well. If you need the sleeper sofa, I would just make sure to clarify that when making your reservation. There are two units in the same building, so maybe the other one has the sleeper sofa?
- Parking: Parking is free on the street and there are residential parking passes provided with the unit (required for street parking). The only downside is that parking may be hard to find - one person drove around for 45 minutes looking for parking. It should be noted that we had (3) cars with our group and we stayed over a very busy weekend (St. Patrick's Day + NCAA BBall Tournament).
- Customer Service: Dan was great to work with! He responded to my emails within 1 - 2 business days and most of the time it was within 24 hours.
Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a "home away from home" while in Chicago!"
