"We loved this vacation home! It was spacious, open and beautiful. The kitchen and eating area were very roomy. We especially liked that the bedrooms on each floor were separated by a living area. The main floor bedrooms did not have the top windows covered so there was light coming into the rooms a bit early. It was great to have a screened porch and hot tub. I agree with a prior renter that we purchased the wi-fi and it was spotty at best. We brought our bikes and had to store them on the front porch because the garage wasn't available for our use. The location of the home is close to the entrance of The General Golf Course but on a very private, quiet street - we didn't have to worry about the grandkids. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone looking for a roomy and luxurious vacation rental."

"All VRBO owners should be like Paul. He responds promptly to questions or issues, and he lives below the unit, so he is available if necessary, but doesn't hover. We were very happy with the rental--well worth the money. And it was so much better than staying in a hotel. VRBO can be a little bit of a risk if you get a bad owner, but not this one. I can see why Paul has a 4.9 star rating.
As for the unit itself, it's definitely vintage (I would guess 100+ year old building), but it was IMMACULATE. My wife likes things clean, and the place was spotless. The bedrooms are quite small, but it wasn't a problem. The neighborhood is quiet, and only a short walk to Andersonville with tons of great restaurants, shops, coffee, etc.
We didn't end up using any public transportation because we were running around the metro area visiting family, so the garage was great. And so was the back patio--shady with all the trees, so it's quite comfortable even during hot midwestern days.
Next time my family and I are in Chicago, I'm sure we'll be staying here! Thanks Paul!"

"We stayed in this unit with some friends for the weekend and had an awesome time. This is a very well kept and spacious unit with plenty of sleeping options and comfortable beds . If you love going out for dinner, drinks or for some laughs, this is an ideal spot with tons of options within walking distance. I look forward to coming back very soon. All the folks at Roscoe Village Guesthouse are outstanding!!!!!!"

"Our family recently made a quick trip to Chicago. We stayed here so we could be close to friends in Evenston. We ended up renting a car vs. trying to use the public transportation. The condo would have been perfect except for 2 things - 1) I would highly recommend buying pillow top mattress covers. The 2 beds were so hard and uncomfortable that we were fighting to sleep on the pullout sofa. 2) the living room is really not designed for use for more than 3 or 4 people. There is a couch and 2 not so comfortable chairs. It seems that this single sitting area is too small for the rest of the house and the very spacious kitchen/eating area. The Rogers Park area is in transition, so some areas are nice and some not so much. Keep that in mind while you travel the neighborhood and make plans. Lastly, ROSS was wonderful. We had a lost piece of luggage that Ross graciously received for us while we were at a show."
