  • Windy City Wedding Weekend

"We rented the whole brownstone for our daughter's wedding weekend. Our whole family (11 adults) had plenty of room, beds, clean linen, towels, dish ware ect ... for a comfortable stay. The brownstone was clean and as described, there were no surprises. The outside had newly planted fall flowers in the window boxes and pots. Inside had new curtains on the bedroom windows and the house was neat and clean. We used both, blow up beds and a new pullout couch that has a memory foam topper to put on the flimsy mattress. My adult son slept on that and it was very comfortable. We were impressed by the water pressure and the plentiful hot water for showering. Grocery stores, Bloomingdales and many great restaurants for all budgets within a 5 minute walk. My husband and I came in a day earlier than the rest of the family and we grocery shopped for the weekend. Treasure Island .3 miles from the brownstone delivered our groceries and carried them up to the 2nd floor apt. For a $9 dollar delivery fee. This was wonderful since we had bought cases of bottled water and other heavier items. Recommend Nico for dinner and Luxbar for brunch. I highly recommend this Brownstone for family gatherings! We will be back!"

  • Perfect place to stay while in Chicago

"I have to be honest, almost didn't want to write this review so I could keep this gem to myself. It is a great place to stay while in Chicago. Easy to get to from the airport (blue line and a five minute walk). Easy to get to the start of the Chicago Marathon which was important for me (again, 5 minute walk, 10 minute train ride and five minute walk). Private hot tub after the race was such a treat. Place was immaculate, owners very responsive to questions. Area is great for personality, lots of good restaurants and convenience store two blocks away. Private laundry facilities were a bonus as well. So easy to get to other areas in Chicago either by walking or subway. Local pub in the area has $5 bus rides there and back to all major sporting events. Area felt very safe. Beautiful and funky place, obvious lots of TLC and love has gone into updating it."

  • Very nice rental house

"Overall, our stay at the lodge was great. The hot tub outside is cleverly placed on a patio walled up by mosquito nets, so you can comfortably stay there, enjoy the summer weather and not worry about any bugs coming in. The nature surrounding the house gives it a nice, secluded feel. We did, however, have two issues with the house. While it comfortably sleeps 10 people, the dining table has only 6 chairs. So 4 of us had to sit on high chairs and we couldn't all comfortably sit down for a meal. In addition to this, although the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, there were not enough normal sized glasses in it, so we ended up buying a set of 8 large water glasses and left it there for the next people to come. Aside from this, the lodge was a wonderful place for a getaway weekend. I would recommend it."

  • Great retreat for family

"We had such a wonderful time at your house. You have added some additional improvements since we first looked at the house and it really helped with the sleeping arrangements. The King size bed on the first floor is great. The master is great with Two queens since we had little ones that like to still sleep near. Very, clean, nicely decorated for Christmas, tree and all. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Thanks for making our family weekend so special. We will come again soon."
