  • "OUR Vacation House" - That's what the kids call it!

"Our family of four has really enjoyed staying at this lovely property twice now, and there will be more visits in the future especially since the kids have declared it "Our Vacation House". :) What can't be beat is the second level of the home with the clean, bright and open kitchen and living room area which opens to the huge deck and spacious hot tub. There are windows all around the main level bringing in the nature you seek. The wood burning fireplace can be viewed from the kitchen while cooking, and while the kids (12 and 10) are enjoying board games or crafts at the huge counter height table in the dining room. We ski during the day, then hot tub, make a nice dinner and cozy up by the fire for a family movie. Perfect get away! From the hot tub, the stars are beautiful at night and we could hear the owls in the distance. Be aware that there is no bathroom on the main floor if going up and down stairs bothers you, but there is a private master bath downstairs. The first level is a little dark, where the bedrooms are, which is fine by me because that is where I sleep. Mary is great to work with and mailed my favorite bathing suit back to me in a flash, no complaints or heavy sighs! Thank you Mary, for sharing your beautiful home with us!"

  • Perfect stay for a Chicago family vacation

"The Clark Suite was perfect for our family gathering in Chicago for Christmas. There were 8 of us traveling from NY, TX & PA. The house is beautiful, clean & comfortable. It had everything we needed, even a Christmas tree, making us feel at home right from the start. The bathrooms & kitchen were fully equipped. We were able to cook meals, even a complete holiday dinner with enough room for 12 of us to eat together. A great, safe neighborhood, we were able to walk to the grocery store & shopping, walk/run to the lake, and catch the train to go downtown. Teri was wonderful, returning my calls & answering questions promptly, putting me at ease. I would highly recommend the Clark Suite for anyone staying in Chicago. It was the perfect vacation. Thank you Teri for sharing your beautiful home."

  • Parents of Chicago resident

"This was a lovely unit! We were in town visiting relatives and absolutely loved the unit and the location. Were within walking distance of everything we needed, including our son. Very comfortable unit (although they could use a new sofa. The one in the unit has seen better days), very clean and all modernized. Great kitchen appliances, very functional. Suggested to the owner that they may want to stock the fridge with water - Chicago tap water leaves a bit to be desired, but that is not the fault of the unit owners. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this unit, in fact I already have! Gave a card to my son's in-laws for when they next visit Chicago!"

  • Lovely apartment in a great neighborhood

"This apartment was perfect for my family. I love the split setup with one bedroom at the front of the house and the other two near the back. I traveled with my aunt, husband and two children so my aunt was able to go to bed when she was ready and not be disturbed by my 1 year old. The character of the home is great and well maintained. Paul was super attentive and gave us great tips on transportation. The neighborhood itself was fantastic.Just a short walk to tons of restaurants, coffee shops, and any type of little shop you can imagine. Target wasn't too far away either (driving) and I also located a great little grocery store. Things worth mentioning are that there are a lot of stairs and the garage (which is a major bonus in Chicago!) is behind the house and can require skill to park in. I rented a small sedan and I really had no trouble parking but when the neighbors set out their trash cans, it took a little maneuvering. If I would have driven my full size SUV, I probably would have given up and parked on the street. The street was super safe and I would have had no issue parking there. As a matter of fact, that's where my aunt parked. Something else that I learned was that there are very few properties in Chicago that are actually licensed as a vacation property. Less than 100. This one is licensed. That was a pretty big deal for us. I felt very comfortable reserving and paying for the property through HomeAway and I highly recommend the HomeAway ap. It was very useful finding things nearby during our stay."
