  • Perfect Anniversary Getaway

"My wife and I recently stayed in Jodi's wonderful condo for our 2 year anniversary. We felt the condo was in a great location, close to downtown Galena yet still had the resort "ish" feel as there were tons of amenities available to us. Although this was our first trip to Galena I definitely feel we will be back and looking forward to renting Jodi's condo."

  • Quiet and relaxing

"A girlfriend and I go away for a spa weekend every year and this year we rented this condo. We would definitely rent it again. It has one bedroom on each floor each with it's own bath. The unit is very clean, well maintained and comfortable. A bonus for me was the air conditioning was very good at keeping the unit comfortable for sleeping (I don't like heat). The deck is great as it overlooks one of the greens so we were able to spend hours reading on the deck and watching the golfers. The living room furniture is very comfortable. There weren't any other people in the units surrounding ours so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was everything we needed and a great value. Thank you,"

  • Location! Location! Location!

"In addition to the comforts of home, a good vacation residence, like real estate, requires three things: location, location, location! This cottage has it all: A beautiful, quiet and safe neighbourhood; easy access to mass transit; lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The parking permits that allowed us to park on the street were very much appreciated. With mass transit conveniently located nearby, we each purchased a 7-day Ventra pass, got on and off the “L” and buses at will, not worrying if we missed a stop or over shot our destination. We recommend doing the Hop On/Hop Off bus to get your bearings in the downtown area. The Shedd Aquarium was great, but go early as the line ups are quite long later in the day. At the Lincoln Park Zoo, watching the baby lemur and baby gibbon at the primate exhibit and the young gorillas at the African exhibit provided lots of entertainment. The Field Museum was interesting, but requires a large time committment to see it all. Uncle Julio’s provided a very good Mexican meal for our first night here (a 5-10 minute walk west on W. North Ave.). Marcello's Father and Son Bakery had great Chocolate Chip Macadamia nut cookies and very good coffee. If you have not tried Potbelly for sandwiches, the location on North Clybourn was excellent and the staff very friendly. Other great places to dine at are: Osteria Via Stato, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Co. In addition to full bellies, we take home with us, wonderful memories of our time in Chicago!"
